Love that he’s so well behaved. To think that a little over a year ago he was skinny, injured and didn’t trust humans to even LOOK at him. Now he can eat out of a bucket I’m holding.

LAST UPDATE: thanks everyone both are back home. We used Cyclone the Zebu/Jersey steer to help get the white Brahman. Both safely home. 🥰

UPDATE: Canela the red one has been caught. The white one is still loose but on our land. Going to be watching out for her to get closer. If you see her please do not chase.

Two of our Brahma heifers got out while unloading to the new paddock. One white and white red.

We had a lot of people surprisingly interested in the Jersey/Brahman cross last year.

Currently have a bull calf who’s filling out nicely we are taking deposits on. Will be available for pick up once weaned.

Last two photos are mom and dad. His momma gives about 5 gallons when we separate from the calf to milk. Could easily give more with dairy specific feed.

Being a Brahma x Jersey has its advantages.

• GREAT VS HEAT
As environmental conditions continue to change. Longer and hotter summers, and long extreme colds, the Brahma side can handle both well.( as long as they are acclimated to it)

• STOCKY & COMPACT
more and more these days people are moving to the homestead style of life. Jerseys being one very popular breed. The issue is their not as meaty. Well this guy has both! The Brahama side being dual purpose on meat and milk. Meat being high yielding carcass with limited fat.

• MATERNAL & FERTILE
Both Jerseys and Brahmas are known for being very maternal. With high enough amount of milk to not just feed one but 2 or more calves!

• PERSONALITY
Both breeds are known for being very docile. In our herd we keep the calmest and nicer cows. Even our bull who’s very good size will come when called.
