Update: Max, our Asian Water Monitor, was having some mobility issues that prompted a trip to see Dr. Andris Platz Animal Hospital on Saturday morning. It turns out he was having muscle spasms due to two fractured ribs. Dr. Andris prescribed some pain meds and he will recheck next week. Max is an 11 year old monitor with increasingly fragile bones. Unfortunately, he likes climbing high in his cage and belly flopping on occasion which is the likely cause for his injury. His prognosis is good, and he will be offsite healing for the next little bit while we work on restructuring a new, low-profile habitat for him enjoy! 🦎
