🌞 Happy First Day of Summer! 🐾

As we officially welcome the summer season, now’s the perfect time to brush up on how to keep your pets safe in the heat! ☀️🐶🐱

Here are some quick summer safety tips for your furry family members:

🚗 Never leave pets in parked cars – Temps inside can skyrocket in minutes, even with windows cracked.
💧 Keep them hydrated – Always have fresh, cool water available.
🌅 Plan walks wisely – Head out in the early morning or late evening to avoid the hottest parts of the day.
🌳 Provide shade & airflow – Indoors or outside, make sure pets have a cool place to relax.
🔥 Protect paws – Hot pavement can burn! Use the “7-second test”: place the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws.
⛔ Skip strenuous play – Avoid overexertion, especially for flat-faced breeds, seniors, or overweight pets.

⚠️ Watch for signs of heatstroke: excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting, or collapse. If you see any of these symptoms, call us immediately.

Let’s make it a safe and tail-wagging summer! 💛

We are so thankful to be even a small part of his journey! Go Clarence!

🐾 From the start, Clarence beat the odds.
Born with a cleft palate, Clarence faced a tough beginning. But thanks to the dedication of his breeder—who fed him every two hours around the clock—he not only survived, he thrived. 💪

What started as a fragile life soon turned into one full of purpose. We can’t wait to share how this remarkable pup went from hand-fed underdog to nearly-graduate. 🎓

🐾 It's National Hairball Awareness Day! 🐾

Hairballs may seem like a normal part of cat life—but there’s more to the story. Today’s the perfect day to unravel the facts! 🧶

📌 Hairball vs. Vomiting – Know the Difference
An occasional hairball may be normal, but frequent vomiting, gagging, or coughing without producing a hairball could signal something more serious. Chronic symptoms should never be ignored.

📌 What’s *not* normal for cats?
🚫 Hairballs more than 1–2 times a month
🚫 Loss of appetite, constipation, or lethargy
🚫 String-like material in vomit (could mean a foreign body)
If you're noticing these signs, it’s time for a vet visit.

📌 Did you know some dogs get hairballs too?
While it’s rare, long-haired dogs or pups that groom excessively due to skin issues or stress can also cough up hairballs.

📌 Tips to help prevent hairballs:
✨ Brush your cat regularly to reduce loose fur
✨ Try hairball-control food or treats
✨ Keep your pet well-hydrated
✨ Treat any skin or anxiety issues that lead to over-grooming

Have questions about your pet’s hairballs or tummy troubles? We’re just a call or message away. Let’s keep those purrs happy and those bellies hairball-free! 🐱🐶

🐾 Today is National Lost Dog Awareness Day! 🐾

Each year, thousands of dogs go missing — but with a little preparation, you can help prevent your pup from becoming a statistic. 💔

Here’s how you can keep your furry friend safe:
🔹 Microchip and ID Tags – Make sure your dog is microchipped and wearing a collar with current ID tags.
🔹 Secure Fencing – Check your yard regularly for escape routes.
🔹 Leash Up! – Even the best-trained pups can bolt when startled or excited.
🔹 Stay Updated – Keep your contact info current with your vet and microchip registry.

If your dog goes missing, act quickly:
📣 Post clear photos on local social media groups and pet recovery sites.
📞 Contact nearby shelters, vets, and animal control.
👀 Keep checking — many dogs are found days or even weeks later!

Let’s work together to keep our four-legged family members safe and sound. 🏡🐶

Lilies are extremely toxic to cats. Simply brushing against them and grooming themselves afterwards can bring about severe, life-threatening disease. Please be aware of your beautiful bouquets, and if in doubt, remove the flower from your home.

Yes, lilies can be a beautiful addition to your home or garden for the spring. 💐 However, it can be difficult to visually identify (and remember) which lily varieties are toxic to cats vs. the ones that are not.

To be safe, it's always best to leave out the lilies in bouquets and decor if you have a cat at home. It's just not worth the risk.
