Florida has officially passed Dexter’s Law, marking a significant step forward for animal protection in the state. The law prevents individuals convicted of animal abuse from owning cats or dogs, helping ensure pets are not returned to dangerous or neglectful situations. Advocates say this closes a long standing gap that allowed repeat abusers to regain access to animals after conviction.

Named in memory of a dog whose abuse case sparked public outrage, Dexter’s Law strengthens accountability and supports shelters and rescue groups in making safer adoption decisions. By prioritizing prevention as well as punishment, the law aims to give cats and dogs a better chance at living in secure, loving homes where cruelty has no place.

As a fellow service member and a veteran owned company I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to attend a friend’s Army graduation for her son. It was my first Army Basic training graduation ceremony and it was EPIC!!!
