A post we never thought we'd have to make: Farewell from Lake City Barks and Recreation.
When we opened over four years ago, we opened with a dream - create a place where dogs would be treated like family and their humans could rest easy knowing they were safe, happy, and loved. Over the years, that dream has come to life thanks to all of you - our incredible clients and your amazing pups.
We've shared so many moments we'll never forget -- from those dogs who have to run to each staff member to say bye before leaving, the ones who plop down and refuse to leave or drag their parents through the door when they arrive, the birthday and holiday celebrations, to seeing dogs progress through training. Being a safe place for those owners who struggle to trust people with their babies and being a place of comfort for dogs who were too reactive or fearful in other environments has been one of the most fulfilling parts of this journey.
After more reflection and prayer than you can imagine, we've made the incredibly difficult decision to close Lake City Barks and Recreation and sell our facility. However, we are happy to share that most of our awesome staff will still be around.
Ashton will continue grooming at Veterinary Associates in Grenada.
Hannah will continue to offer private pet sitting.
Megan will continue private training.
This decision was not made lightly, but it comes from a place of deep gratitude for all that LCBR has been -- a place full of love, learning, and connection.
To all of our clients: thank you for trusting us with your dogs, for your loyalty, and for becoming part of our family. Your support over these past several years has meant more than words can express.
We'll continue to share updates about what this transition will look like and how to stay connected with us as we move away from our facility on EJ Henry Rd. Current reservations will be honored (and spoiled, as usual). For now, please know how deeply grateful we are for every tail wag, paw print, and friendship we've made along the way.
As it says in Philippians 4:19 - no matter the upheavals of change in our lives, there's no need to fear. And Psalms 102:27 - Seasons change, but God remains unchanging.
With love and endless appreciation,
Megan & the LCBR Team
