Assistance Dogs of the Carolinas We used an individualized and balanced approach to teach clients how to train their own service dog. Lessons conform to what is best for both the dog and human.

We are based in Greenville, SC but as the name implies, we serve both North and South Carolina. Assistance Dogs of the Carolinas specializes in training autism, psychiatric and mobility assistance dogs. At this time, we are unable to provide dogs, this is a long term goal. However, if you do not have a suitable dog for training, we are certainly capable of helping you select an appropriate dog for

your needs! Please note that dogs with fear and or aggression issues are not accepted into the training program. All training sessions are tailored to the dog and handler as individuals.

This is a thermal image of a dual coated dog that has been shaved into a Lion Clip. The non-shaved portion which would include the head and chest is scanned at 24°C (75°F) and the shaved portion from behind the shoulder blades to the tail reads 30°C (86°F). This dual hair coat is present for a reason... mainly thermal regulation. Shaving a dual coated dog does not make them cooler. Instead increases the chance of sunburn, over heating, and permanent coat damage.
