The New World Screwworm has recently been detected in Texas, making awareness and early detection more important than ever. These flies lay eggs in open wounds, and the resulting larvae can cause severe tissue damage to livestock, pets, wildlife, and even people.

🐾 Check your animals regularly for wounds that aren't healing properly.
📞 Contact your veterinarian immediately if you notice unusual wounds, maggots, or signs of infection.
🛡️ Early detection is key to protecting our animals and preventing the spread of this dangerous pest.
