Whisker Creek Pet Pawlor is looking for a talented and dedicated Pet Groomer to join our growing team. We know we are asking for a lot, but we want to find the absolute best people to care for your furry family members.
🐶What We Are Looking For:
• Experience: 1+ years of professional grooming experience and 2+ years working with animals in a professional setting (background as a kennel technician or bather is a huge plus!).
• Age Requirement: 18 years of age or older.
• Core Skills & Traits: Strong physical stamina, a portfolio of past grooming work, and positive professional references.
• Reliability & Communication: Dependable attendance, punctuality, and clear communication with both clients and coworkers regarding pet temperaments, handling notes, and schedule flow.
• Safety & Handling: Strict adherence to safe handling protocols, fear-free techniques, and the ability to recognize signs of stress, fatigue, or medical issues in pets.
• Tool & Equipment Care: Responsibility for the proper maintenance, cleaning, and sharpening of your own tools (shears, clipper blades, brushes).
• Customer Service: Comfort discussing grooming styles, needs, and maintenance schedules directly with pet parents in a warm, professional manner.
• Grooming Versatility: Proficiency across a variety of breed standards, pet trims, and hand-scissoring techniques, along with a willingness to work with diverse temperaments and coat types.
• Mindset & Culture: A true team player with compassion for both animals and people, and a drive to constantly learn and improve your skills.
• Bonus: Professional grooming certifications & able to work as kennel techs are a big plus!
💵Compensation:
Commission-based pay plus daily tips.
Hourly pay for kennel tech work.
Could be full time or part time.
