Our LAST Friday adoption special as part of Clear the Shelters month!

🕵️ CASE FILE: BLACKOUT FILES 🕵️

Some of the best pets in the shelter have one thing in common...they keep getting overlooked.

Black cats. Black-and-white cats. Black dogs. Black-and-white dogs.

Today, we’re changing that.

As part of Clear the Shelters Month, Detective Opie has pulled today’s files and needs your help crossing them off for good. Every adoption means another case closed and another pet finally finding the family they’ve been waiting for.

🐾 MEET ZIG & ZAG! 🐾

These two sweet boys have quite the story to tell. 🩵

Zig and Zag came to their foster about three months ago after being diagnosed with Feline Panleukopenia, also known as feline distemper. Panleukopenia is a highly contagious and life-threatening virus caused by feline parvovirus, and when these boys first arrived, they were extremely sick.

But Zig and Zag were little fighters and refused to give up. ❤️ After treatment, lots of care, and plenty of fighting on their part, these boys are now healthy, cleared from the virus, and finally ready to find their forever home!

However, their journey did leave them with something a little special.

Because of their illness, Zig and Zag developed Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), also known as Wobbly Cat Syndrome. This means that they wobble when they walk and may occasionally fall over. But trust us when we say they have absolutely no idea they’re any different. 😂

CH is not contagious, not painful, and not progressive, meaning it will not get worse over time. The boys are otherwise completely normal, happy kittens with plenty of energy! They love playing with toys, other animals, and especially each other. Their little wobbles and occasional tumbles don’t slow them down one bit.

They are also both perfectly litter box trained and would make wonderful additions to the right family!

🐾 Zig and Zag MUST be adopted together. They have been together since birth and are now a bonded pair who deserve to stay side by side. They will need to remain strictly indoors at all times and need a family willing to love them exactly as they are.

These boys have already fought so hard for their chance at life. Now they just need someone willing to give them the forever home they’ve worked so hard for. 🩵

As part of Clear the Shelters Month, today’s mission is all about our biggest suspects. These lovable oversized goofballs may take up a little more room on the couch, but they make up for it with even bigger hearts.
