To say aquariums is our passion is a vast understatement: each member of the House of Fins team boasts several years if not decades of personal and professional aquatic experience, with most also holding higher degrees in the marine sciences. From our designers to our aquarists every member knows what it takes to build and maintain a living masterpiece.

The House of Fins retail store is legendary for the diversity, quality, and uniqueness of its livestock. Whether you're stocking a several hundred gallon reef or just want to look around and pick our brains for advice, a visit to 99 Bruce Park is always worth it. In addition to the aquatic menagerie we also carry top equipment, aquarium, and prepared food brands in the industry.

From a one time plumbing installation to a 3 times a week maintenance schedule, our aquarium maintenance department does any and everything tank related. We clean, service, and provide husbandry for aquariums in homes and offices throughout the Tri-State area, from New Haven, Connecticut to Northern New Jersey; from midtown Manhattan to the Hamptons and beyond. Nowhere is too far for us to travel to give your tank the care it deserves, whether that be the occasional tune-up or a full "hands off" experience. Our passionate service members are experienced jacks-of-all-trade, as general aquarium maintenance requires them to be part time plumbers, chemists, cleaners, and biologists. Each of our service professionals has years of experience maintaining aquariums of all types and sizes, excelling at providing superb, discrete care to your aquarium on your schedule.

Corals

Saltwater Inverts

A solid clean up crew of invertebrates is the backbone of any successful reef aquarium. To this end we provide a wide assortment of the invertebrates you need to keep your saltwater tank squeaky clean: turbo and Nassarius snails, hermit crabs, brittle stars, sea urchins. We also strive to supply the more unusual and rare inverts you’re looking for: harlequin shrimp, blue linkia starfish, mimic octopus, flamboyant cuttlefish. And finally, we also carry the reefing staples of varied anemones and Tridacna giant clams to give your tank the splash of color it needs.

Saltwater

House of Fins is renowned the world over for the rare and unique saltwater fish we carry, but our extensive selection also includes all of the most popular species as well. We have a tropical saltwater fish for nearly any aquarium: small gobies, basslets, and blennies for the nano tank; tangs, anthias, cardinalfish, and wrasses for the larger reef tank; large puffers, triggerfish, beautiful angelfish, and large wrasses such as the harlequin tusk for the fish only aquarium. Need a Conspicillatus Angel? We’ve got that. Need a clownfish? We’ve got that too.

Freshwater

Our freshwater selection is geared towards both the budding hobbyist starting their first community tank to the Malawi enthusiast looking for just the right Aulonocara. We have all of the community staples, such as livebearers, tetras, barbs, Corydoras catfish, and zebrafish, as well as the more unusual specimens like gudgeons, dwarf cichlids, garras, and rare plecos. Our large semi-aggressive selection is a mix of old favorites and the unusual as well: Eartheaters, Arowanas, freshwater stingrays, spiny eels, blue lobsters. Our African Cichlid selection is an impressive mix from Lake Malawi, Tanganyika and Victoria, covering nearly every variety: Tropheus, Mbuna, Peacocks, Haps, Lamps, Shell dwellers, Synodontis catfish.
