Back at it today. 💪🐾

Benny is starting his first day back of treatment for spindle cell carcinoma.

We paused treatment back in April to rule out oral melanoma. During that time, our vet carefully measured and monitored the suspected growth for five months, and since there was no change or growth, we were able to determine it was benign and likely a scab or past injury.

During the pause, the spindle cell returned, so today we’re back where we belong: focused, hopeful, and ready to eliminate this cancer in 2026.

❄️🎄 Grateful for another season together. 🎄❄️

This work isn’t just about the miles we walk or the trails we cover. It’s about the people and dogs who show up day after day, through every season.

It takes patience, care, and a genuine love for dogs and the outdoors to do this right. Not everyone is built for it and that’s okay. We’re thankful for the ones who are.

We believe in high standards, thoughtful decisions, and doing right by the dogs first. That’s what guides us on the trail, behind the scenes, and in moments like this.

This is Dan, part of the K9 Trek team since February 2011.

Before dog hiking became popular. Before social media. Before trend-driven dog programs, Dan was already out here — showing up consistently, season after season.

We’re built on experience.
Meticulous, protocol-driven, and guided by care — not shortcuts. That’s what shapes our safety record.
