Meet Lugs! Lugs came to us as a stray, so we don’t know much about his past everything we’ve learned is based on what we’ve observed during his time here at the shelter. We believe Lugs is a 2-year-old intact male Lab Mix, and he’s been nothing but a sweetheart since arriving. Lugs is a gentle and friendly boy who’s learning how to walk nicely on a leash. Lugs has shown us that he knows how to sit, shake and loves treats. Lugs is not a fan of other dogs. Lugs did great for his nail trim and exam where he weighed in at 52lbs. and was also given Bordetella, parvo/lepto/distemper vaccines, dewormed, microchipped and is heartworm negative. Introducing Neal, a sweet and slightly shy 3-year-old intact male Terrier Mix who's ready for a second chance at love. Neal came to us as a stray, so while his past is a mystery, we’ve gotten a glimpse of the kind-hearted pup he truly is. At first, Neal may seem a bit reserved, but give him a few treats and some gentle encouragement, and you’ll quickly see him begin to warm up. He loves spending time outdoors and is currently learning to walk on a leash and making solid progress every day! Neal doesn't seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter. Neal would likely thrive in a calm, patient home that can give him the space and kindness he needs to feel secure. Neal did great for exam where he weighs in at 43.6 lbs. where he was given Bordatella, parvo/lepto/distemper vaccines, dewormed, microchipped and is heartworm negative. Meet Ella! Say hello to Ella, a gentle 3-year-old Terrier Mix with the sweetest soul. Ella came to us as a stray, so while we don't know much about her past, we've gotten to know her through her time here at the shelter—and she's won our hearts. Though she can be a little shy at first, give her a bit of time and you'll see her true colors shine: affectionate, calm, and playful. Ella already knows how to sit, loves chasing after a ball, and is always happy to accept a treat or two (or three!).She’s still getting the hang of leash walking, but she’s making steady progress. Ella doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter. More than anything, she’s looking for a peaceful, patient home that will give her the time and space she needs to feel safe and loved. Ella did great for her nail trim and exam where she weighs in at 29.5 lbs. she was given Bordatella, parvo/lepto/distemper vaccines, dewormed, microchipped and is heartworm negative. Meet Duke! Say hello to Duke, a dashing 1.5-year-old intact male Terrier mix with a heart full of love and a nose for treats! This sweet, handsome boy came to us through no fault of his own—his previous owner could no longer care for him. Now, Duke is patiently waiting for a forever home where he can thrive. Duke already knows how to sit, and he’s a big fan of treats (they’re the way to his heart!). He’s also working hard on his leash skills and making fantastic progress every day. While he can be a little shy at first, Duke warms up quickly with gentle encouragement and kindness. He gets along well with other dogs at the shelter and would do well in a home where he can continue to gain confidence and feel safe. We Believe Jeff is a 1 1/2-year-old intact male Terrier mix who came to us as a stray, so while his past is a mystery, we have been getting to know his sweet personality here at the shelter. Jeff enjoys soaking up the sunshine, and is always up for some quality time outdoors. He’s currently working on his leash-walking skills and is making good progress. Jeff doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter. Jeff is looking for a loving home where he can continue to learn, grow, and be your loyal companion. Gloria has shown us she is highly motivated by treats. She's currently learning how to walk on a leash, and she's picking it up beautifully. Gloria doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs at the Shelter. Give a big hello to Issac! Issac came to us as a stray, so our knowledge about him is limited to what we've observed here at the shelter. We believe Issac is a 2-year-old, intact male Husky mix with a bright personality and a lot of love to give. Issac has shown us he knows how to sit and absolutely loves treats which makes him eager to learn more! He's a super friendly boy who soaks up attention and enjoys meeting new people. He’s also learning how to walk on a leash and is making good progress. Issac doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter . Meet this beautiful girl, Sweets! Sweets came to us as a stray, so our knowledge about her past is limited but what we do know is how wonderful she is. We believe Sweets is a 4-year-old female Terrier mix with a heart as big. True to her name, Sweets is an incredibly affectionate girl who loves attention. She has already shown us she knows how to sit and loves treats. She’s currently learning how to walk on a leash and is doing well. Sweets doesn’t mind the other dogs here at the shelter. If you're looking for a loving companion who’s ready to soak up all the affection you have to give, Sweets could be your perfect match. The Darke County Animal Shelter would like to give a big THANK YOU to Greenville Youth Cheerleading for doing a donation drive for the shelter! They were able to collect of dog treats, dog food, toys, bleach, throw blankets and so much more. We would also say THANK YOU for coming and hang out with some of our dogs we have here at the shelter Daisy, Duke, Dragon and Tyrus had a great time with you all!!!
