“YOU GONNA GO OUT LIKE THAT?” 😂
That’s what Mark asked as I headed out today. Figured he meant the oversized jeans or the T-shirt swallowing me whole. Whatever. I was BUSY, and it was Tuesday.
Except… it was WEDNESDAY. 🤦♀️
I arrived to collect donations for Kokos’s Closet, proud I was only TEN MINUTES late.
“Sweetie, you’re a DAY late. A call would have been nice.”
Please let the ground swallow me.
Thankfully, she laughed and still sent me home with a beautiful Eastlake settee set from the 1870s and a carload of treasures for Kokos this weekend! ❤️
Then my brain caught up.
WAIT. If it’s Wednesday, I’m late for my doctor’s appointment AND supposed to meet Paula with her auction purses!
Started making calls. Had to cancel with Paula.
WAIT. I’m also meeting the Russos at Wade Hampton Hospital for donated dog and cat food for our community project!
Off I went, still looking crazy. Also met Jill Wagner, who donated food AND a stunning handmade wooden dove house we’ll have for sale. Thank you all!
Then… DID I MISS THE VET TOO?
Called Craven Creek.
“Yep. Your appointment was half an hour ago.”
Bless them, they squeezed us in that afternoon. 🙌
Rushed home. Car packed with donations. Two dogs needing a ride.
I’ll take the Bug!
The Bug wouldn’t start. Of course.
Unloaded the car to make room, wrestled Henry and Louise into harnesses, loaded everybody up, and made it to the vet.
All I wanted was a nap.
Everyone was giving me Mark’s same look, so I finally checked. Dirt? P**p? WHAT?
And THAT is what this photo is about. 😂
When I started rescue, I told myself I’d never be that woman running around in clothes that don’t fit, hair everywhere, no makeup, looking like she barely survived her own morning.
Yet here we are.
But we also rescued FOUR lives, collected beautiful donations and community pet food, and got the dogs to the vet.
It’s 7:30, and I’m finally home to feed my face and love on my dogs.
I think I still have a husband somewhere. Probably hiding.
Happy WEDNESDAY, everybody. Apparently. 🐾
Updates coming soon!
