New class at Greenville Area Dog Club for 2022!
Once again, Greenville Area Dog Club is expanding their roster of classes with a new Senior Puppy Class. This exciting class for older pups 6 – 12 months of age covers the normal foundation training: sit, down, stand, heeling, come and stays. In addition to the foundation training, there will be expanded focus training which is new to Greenville Area Dog Club. Our instructors use positive focus training techniques and games that will help your dog bring their attention back to you in distracting environments. As a result, your dog will have more confidence and the training will strengthen the bond between the two of you as you work together as a team.
Classes for the next session starts March 22, 2022. Please go to www.greenvilleareadogclub.com for registration, class orientation and information about this exciting new class. Registration opens February 22, 2022 and closes March 15, 2022. (For those students without internet access, please call 501-454-1441 for more information and to register.)

Greenville Area Dog Club To Start Training Classes In January

Did you just get a new puppy or currently have a dog that needs some obedience training and don’t know where to turn for help?
Well, we have some good news for all dog owners who dream of having a well-mannered dog that you can enjoy both inside and outside your home.
Our highly trained team of instructors are truly dedicated to train you the lessons needed on how to train your dog to listen to the most basic obedience commands and function as a team.
You may be asking yourself what are benefits of taking obedience classes?
The biggest benefit is the socialization skills your dog will learn by attending our weekly training classes.
Socialization skills are a very important part to your puppy or dog’s life, by removing both the fear and anxiety when leaving the comfort of their environment.
Socialization should start as soon as possible for all puppies and dogs.
Another benefit of bringing your dog to obedience classes is all dogs love to learn, teaching them in the correct way helps to minimize confusion and this allows your dog to better understand what you are asking your dog to do.
You will find that your dog will get excited about coming to the training classes.

Greenville Area dog Club is currently excepting registrations for all classes listed below.
Information on all classes including registration forms can be found on our web page at www.greenvilleareadogclub.com

The orientation and all training classes will be held at our training facility located at 940 Front St. Greenville, Ohio.

Greenville Area Dog Club is offering something new to their ever-expanding roster of classes. The Trick Dog Titling Program which was launched in 2017 by the American Kennel Club is an exciting program that encourages more dogs and owners to become involved in training. Greenville Area Dog Club had its first class this fall for their members. 7 members and their dogs passed their Novice title with a few dogs passing their Intermediate title also. The members and their dogs had a lot of fun during the 8-weeks session. This class will be open to the public for the January 2021 session. Dogs must have completed one obedience class to be eligible to participate.
In addition to the new Trick Dog class, Greenville Area Dog Club offers Puppy, Beginning and Advanced Obedience, Rally and Agility classes. We also offer TDI Certified Therapy Dog and AKC CGC Classes and Evaluations for all dogs.
Classes will start up the week of January 4, 2021. Check out our web site: www.greenvilleareadogclub.com for more details.

FREE SEMINAR
Free Seminar offered to residents and business owners. Greenville Area Dog Club will be offering a FREE Seminar to both residents and business owners on November 21, 2020 starting at 1:00pm at 940 Front Street Greenville, Ohio. Becky Baker President of GADC states that the reason for offering this FREE Seminar is to educate both the residents and business owners in our community on the benefits of having a well-trained obedient dog. Most dog owners just want a dog that will listen to them when called. However many times dog owners quickly find that this is only the tip of the iceberg when they visit their Veterinarian, Groomer, Dog Park or just out for a walk; find themselves embarrassed by their dog’s behavior due to lack of obedience when they leave the comfort of their home. We are here to help everyone to become a responsible dog owner. Barb Rhoades Director of Obedience explains Greenville Area Dog Club is a nonprofit organization offering classes to help you learn to train your dog. The purpose of the club is to stimulate public interest in the training and control of dogs by offering obedience training at the community level and to foster friendship among dog owners. Our team of instructors are all members of the club who volunteer their time and talent because they love dogs and enjoy working with people. The instructors devote much time and planning in order to provide an efficient program for your enjoyment and benefit. We offer Puppy, Obedience, Rally, Therapy Dog/CGC, Trick Dog, and Agility classes. All dogs starting as young as 12 weeks old are welcome to take classes including mix breeds. Our goal for conducting this FREE Seminar is to build public awareness and provide educational information and guidance in Obedience, Therapy Dog Certification, Emotional Support Dogs, and Service Dogs including information on how the American with Disability Act (ADA) laws and requirements pertain to each one of them when it comes to gaining or allowing access to a business, housing and travel. Good day at Middletown yesterday for a WCRL trial . Smokey placed 6 out of 6 runs. We got 3 firsts, 2 seconds, and 1 third. Added legs toward level 1, 2, and 3 championships and 2 legs toward his All rally Champion Excellent ( ARCH E X). It takes 10 trials with 1 run in level 2 and 1 in level 3 and scores higher than 195. Doing2 and 3 in the same trial and scoring 195 or higher is the goal. That earns you 1 leg toward the title. It takes 10 of those for the championship.
FAMILY FUN NIGHT 2021 We had so much fun and want to thank everyone for coming out! While we at Darke DD wanted to host an event to give back to our community who continually supports us in all that we do, this was truly a community effort! When our community partners heard about our event, they jumped on board and wanted to help out - we couldn't have done it alone. Please help us in giving a HUGE shoutout of gratitude to everyone who helped make this a great event: Greenville Ohio Fire Department Darke County Sheriff's Office Greenville Ohio Police Department Greenville Area Dog Club EUM Church Anthony Wayne Preschool and Daycare Darke County ParksOhio State - Darke County Extension Office Kona Ice of Troy Scott Family McDonald's Karen Herold Sink Teri Robbins Lauren WarnerMatt Strickland Shelly Warner Alice and Tom Messer De Colores Montessori School Greenville City Schools student athletes Eric Fee

Do you have conformation run-thru's? I am looking on behalf of a small group in my area. Echo is not doing conformation run-thru's for non-members; Gem City is not available for run-thru's at this time; DDTC has run-thru's but that is a big drive. I live in Piqua. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
Smokey earned his AKC Rally Novice B title yesterday with a perfect score of 100 and a 2nd. place. They said it was a thing of beauty to watch him work. Yippy Ki Yay, Ki Yo!!!!! Smokey at 11 weeks in photo
