"Last week was bath time for our girl, and we decided to try a different routine. She did amazing!
Since she has poodle-type hair, brushing has always been a challenge because she really doesn’t enjoy it. This time, my husband bathed her in the shower, shampooed her, let it sit for a few minutes, and rinsed thoroughly. Then he applied conditioner, let that sit, and brushed her out really well while the conditioner was still in her coat.
After her bath, I blow-dried her and started combing her out. I was shocked at how easily it went! I was able to comb through probably 75% of her body with very little effort.
We’ve had our baby girl for almost two years now, and at 40 pounds, grooming can be quite a task. Everything I’ve read and watched has always recommended thoroughly brushing before a bath, but this method worked so much better for us—and especially for her. Pre-bath brushing is usually stressful because she simply doesn’t like it.
This routine made the whole experience much easier on everyone. The picture was taken after we were finished. ❤️🐾"
