Pastor’s Corner – Labor Day Weekend
Labor Day reminds us how much of life is spent working. Whether it’s at a job, at home, or just trying to make ends meet, we all know what it feels like to be tired. Sometimes it seems like life itself is one long shift that never ends.

In fact, many of us come here to the Bark Park for more than just a place to walk our dog. It’s a place of peace and community after a day of work.

Think about this: God cares about your work, and He also cares about your rest. Jesus once said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). That’s more than just a nap—it’s a deep peace for your soul.
This weekend as you take a break, remember: your worth is not measured by how many hours you put in or how much you produce. You are loved by the One who made you. He offers not only strength for today but also rest that lasts forever.
Happy Labor Day weekend. May you find both strength for the work ahead and true rest for your soul.

A word of explanation. If you see Bella out in the parking lot with a set of bucket drums, she is trying to raise money for Marie.
This is Marie. She has been like an aunt to Bella and has really helped raise her from the time she was a baby. Bella feels so helpless with her in the hospital, so she wants to help raise money.
We are doing a fundraiser for her but Bella is trying in her own way as well.
Marie’s husband passed away in April and she was in a terrible car accident last week and will be laid up for a few months with two broken legs and other injuries.

ATTENTION:This is an important and somewhat disappointing announcement. Please take note.
Unfortunately, in Greenville County, it is fully legal to shoot off fireworks from your own property. Therefore, we have no legal recourse against the neighbor who has been shooting off fireworks.
We were originally informed that he could be stopped with a breach of peace order, but that is not the case.
I really hate it for everyone here but I think the best thing that we can do is ignore it and hope it goes away.
Unless there is an incident on the dog park property, there’s no need to confront the neighbor, call the police or ask us to do anything because there is nothing that can be done. I am truly sorry.
We are here if you need us and so are the police but sometimes there is just nothing we can do except pray. Never underestimate the power of prayer.

Thank You and I’m sorry to bring bad news.

PASTOR’S CORNER for July 4th.
From Valley Forge to Victory

While Valley Forge is often remembered as the lowest and most desperate point in the American Revolution, it was also the turning point. How could a place marked by freezing temperatures, starvation, disease, and despair become the beginning of victory? Because as James 5:16 reminds us, “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much.”
During the bitter winter of 1777–1778, General George Washington didn’t just lead with strategy—he led with prayer. Facing insurmountable odds, he left the camp to seek God’s face, crying out to the “God of the armies” for divine help. His prayer was not in vain.
On February 23, 1778, God answered. Baron von Steuben arrived at Valley Forge with the training, structure, and discipline the Continental Army desperately needed. He introduced hygiene protocols, drills, and military strategy that transformed ragged troops into a formidable force. What looked like the end became the beginning of victory—because one man turned to God in prayer.
