Took my bearded dragon Lucy to work with me today….apparently she thinks she’s officially on payroll now!

We tested her out behind the register (still working on her customer service skills 😄) and then she spent most of her shift lounging in the “sitting area” like she owns the place. Every single person who came in today stopped to tell her how beautiful she is… which, of course, has only boosted her ego.

All jokes aside, I’m really proud to be part of a team that truly cares about the animals. Bark & Branch Pet Supply Company is the area’s only reptile-focused store that puts a huge emphasis on proper husbandry, education, and making sure every animal (and even the invertebrates!) are set up for success.

That’s honestly why I love working here, the owners’ values around animal care and education line up so closely with my own.

If you’re local and into reptiles (or thinking about getting one), definitely check them out. You’ll learn a lot and know you’re getting the right guidance from the start!

To everyone who stopped by the expo yesterday expecting to see us….I owe you a sincere apology.

We had a family emergency in the early morning hours that prevented us from getting on the road in time, and we were unable to attend as planned. I know how disappointing it is to arrive at a show looking for a specific vendor and find them missing, and I am truly sorry to anyone we let down.

I also want to extend a heartfelt apology to the vendors and show organizers at Cambria County Reptile & Oddity Expo I know firsthand how much work, planning, and expense goes into preparing for an event, and how frustrating it is to receive last-minute notice that someone can’t make it. That is never something we take lightly.

We are currently navigating a couple of personal situations that may, unfortunately, result in occasional last-minute changes to our schedule.

While we will always do everything in our power to honor our commitments, family will always come first❤️

Thank you to everyone for your understanding, kindness, and continued support. It truly means more to us than you know, and we look forward to seeing you at the next event❤️

Hello SGG friends! I hope you are all staying warm and comfy on this snowy but sunny Saturday. We are getting packed and ready for our show at NE Ohio Reptile Show at Girard Ohio tomorrow. This is our local show and we are taking all the precautions to ensure all of our animals will remain safe and warm during our 25 minute trip and from car to building.

We will have 6 tables this month and are bringing all our new inventory with us. I’ve spent the last week making new butterfly and bug specimen frames, some with beautiful pressed flowers. At least a half dozen new-to-us species

New skulls, bones, owl pellets and other oddity goodies.

We will have the most geckos we’ve ever brought to a show, peep some of our young ink spot geckos who are already loaded with spots and gaining more with each shed.

Over a dozen types of mantises and fruit fly cultures

Jumping spiders, jumper enclosures and spider hides

Blue death feigning beetles, food, invert food and water dishes.

And all our usual goodies! We’ve missed you NE OHIO! It’s been about 4 months since we’ve seen you last!!

🕷️ You Spoke. We Listened. 🕷️

For those of you who’ve been with us for a while, you may remember that we used to breed jumping spiders. And while we absolutely loved working with them, anyone who’s ever raised a clutch knows just how intense it can be…hundreds of tiny babies, endless care, feeding, and monitoring. Eventually, it became more than we could responsibly manage alongside everything else we do, and we made the tough decision to step back.

So for a while, we stopped offering jumpers.

But… at show after show, so many of you kept asking:
“Do you have jumping spiders?”
“Any chance you’ll bring them back?”
“Will you ever carry them again?”

And we heard you.

After a lot of thought, research, and conversations, we’re excited to share that we’ll be offering captive-bred jumping spiders again! This time through partnerships with trusted, ethical breeders who share our standards and values.

This means:
Healthy, well-started spiders
Responsibly bred
Properly cared for
From people we trust

We also want to say this clearly: many shows already have amazing jumper vendors, and we fully support them. We’ll always encourage you to explore and support fellow breeders and small businesses in this community. There is room for all of us here, and we believe in lifting each other up.

And of course, we’ll still be carrying our spider hides and enclosures to help you give your little jumpers the best home possible.

Thank you for continuing to support us, for sharing your feedback, and for trusting us. This community means everything to us, and we’re grateful every day to be part of it.

We can’t wait to bring these tiny, curious faces back to our table. You will find them this weekend at NE Ohio Reptile Show in Warren OH on Sunday!
