***PUBLIC ALERT***
We have received confirmation from the PA Game Commission of a stray cat in Ruffsdale that tested positive for rabies on 6/25/26. This cat did bite a dog and a human, who are both currently receiving treatment.
We would like to remind our clients and our community that rabies is a very real and present threat in our area, and urge you to update all your pets' and livestock's rabies vaccines ASAP.
Pennsylvania law requires all dogs and cats over 12 weeks of age to be current on their rabies vaccines. This includes barn cats, and stray cats that you may be feeding. Please check your paperwork for up-to-date rabies certificates to keep yourself legal. Remember, rabies can be spread to humans, and is fatal if contracted.

The more local animals that are vaccinated, the less the rabies virus will be able to spread in our community. Keep yourselves and our community safe!

❤️🐾 LAKE HAS BEEN FOUND! 🐾❤️

Words can't express the relief and gratitude we are feeling right now. After days of searching, praying, hoping, and refusing to give up... Lake has been FOUND!

To every single person who shared our posts, searched, hung flyers, donated their time, offered prayers, checked trail cameras, searched with drones, brought K9 teams, and reached out with words of encouragement—thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The outpouring of love from complete strangers, friends, family, customers, and our community has been absolutely overwhelming.
This has been an incredibly emotional journey, and knowing so many people cared enough to help bring Lake home means more than we can ever put into words.

While our hearts continue to mourn the devastating loss of our mom, having Lake back with us brings a small piece of comfort during an unimaginably difficult time.

From our entire family, thank you for never giving up on Lake.

Heart & Soul Animal Hospital is posting for a missing dog, Lake, that ran away from a car accident that happened in Carroll County Virgina. Last seen near Route 77 near Hillsville/Galax Virgina. Any rescues or shelters that may have ties to other rescues in that area, please make connect with them and put the word out. Praying for a safe return home.

Heart & Soul Animal Hospital is asking pet owners to call our office now if your pet experience anxiety during the firework season. We become overwhelmed the week of July 4th, making it difficult to fill needed prescriptions.
