Nugget with a Masterclass on setting boundaries.

Enzo is notorious for chasing dogs down in a rude way. I normally interrupt him but intentionally did not on this trip because I trust Nugget’s communication skills.

I thought he took it a little too far on the very last correction but I was wrong because Enzo entirely cut the bu****it after that one.

But if y’all had ONLY seen the last incident Nugget would look like a total as***le.

Magic at Okefenokee Wildlife Refuge

My brother Caleb and I catch a glimpse of a bobcat crossing the boardwalk.

We ninja creep forward. Caleb touches my shoulder. In the brush. Breathtaking. Perfect camouflage.

Another cat spawns into frame! Surely a once-in-a-lifetime viewing…
�It was not.
�We return at dusk. Park totally empty. Half a mile up boardwalk, we sit. Within minutes, a cat saunters towards us. In a blink, a second cat levitates from the brush.

We bask in this surreal experience.

Behind us, another cat appears. We are smack dab between the parties. Solo cat turns back, pauses to call out. Eerie squalls pierce the stillness of the swamp.

The other pair is wary. One vanishes into the brush. The other gracefully passes within steps of us to join its friend.

They play, sunbathe, observe.

Confident and coy.

The cats calmly es**rt us back down the boardwalk and out of the park..

Helping a dog navigate an obstacle is one of my favorite micro joys. Especially when I know it’s their first time.

Scaling the rock face isn’t hard with a trusted spotter but it looks pretty impossible from the bottom of the wall. Maggie and Gypsy put their trust in me today.

Supposed to be in Coloradee right now but not feelin’ too hot so we are resting up at the house.

Gertbag has been good company. Here we are enjoying one of the few moments we’ve been outside.

So much to be grateful for, can’t be upset about some interrupted plans. It’s part of our earthly experience.

Willow is 10 years old y’all. She is an absolute delight to have in my life and I hope it was a great day. I can’t wait to see her and the rest of the Colorado crew during our holiday break!
