Hey friends! We are delighted to share some news with you - Dr. Michelle Parenteau will be joining our team starting June 17th!

Dr. Parenteau brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to patient care, and we’re confident she will be a wonderful addition to our practice. She will begin seeing patients once her onboarding process is complete, and we will keep you all up to date with scheduling details.

Our veterinary receptionists are the heart of the hospital. They juggle ringing phones, full schedules, worried pet parents and wagging tails- all while keeping things running smoothly. We wanted to take a moment to tell you about them and why you should say thank you. They’re the first and last friendly face you see and the calm voice on the other end of the line. They’re handle everything from check-ins, to comforting clients during tough goodbye and they do it all with compassion and grace. So the next time you visit, give them a smile or a quick ‘thanks’ because they truly deserve it. 💕

What is a Relief Veterinarian?
We understand that continuity of care is important when it comes to your pet’s health. That’s why we want to introduce you to essential members of our veterinary team: Our relief veterinarians.
A relief veterinarian is a licensed, experienced veterinarian who is an integral resource to our day to day operation. Relief vets allow us to expand our services, increasing our ability to care for our patients.
Our relief veterinarians are carefully selected for their expertise, compassion, and dedication to patient care. They maintain the same level of service you’ve come to expect, reviewing medical records and collaborating with staff to provide consistent treatment.
If you ever have questions about your pet’s care, whether provided by our associate veterinarians or a relief veterinarian, please don’t hesitate to ask. We appreciate your trust and remain committed to providing the best possible care for your pet.

* Bailey has been ADOPTED!*
Thank you to everyone who reached out about her

Meet Bailey- a sweetie who is looking for her forever home 🐾
Bailey is a 2 year old retired breeding dog from Rockingham County with so much love to give. After being adopted, her new family discovered she was heartworm positive and unfortunately could not manage the treatment costs. That’s how Bailey found her way to us.
Although she’s been a fantastic guest- no accidents in her kennel, non-picky eater and all around gentle soul, we know Bailey deserves to be part of a loving family.
Here’s what we know about her:
Good with kids- she does well with older children and as a lovable Labrador, we’re confident she’d be great with little ones too.
Dog friendly- she has shown no aggression towards other dogs and seems to be open to making new furry friends.
Unknown with cats- we haven’t seen her interact with cats yet so her feline compatibility is a mystery.
Bailey’s warm personality and easy going nature make her an excellent companion. And to ensure she finds the right home DGAH is willing to assist with her heartworm treatment. If you’re ready to welcome Bailey into your family please contact the hospital for more information. Let’s help Bailey find the happy ending she truly deserves 💕

Flashback to an amazing day of service at Backpack Beginnings! It was a true family affair with children, parents and siblings coming together to lend a hand. A few weekends ago we sorted through donated food and made a serious dent in those bins! Grateful for our amazing work family and the opportunity to support this incredible mission!
