This is Axle, he is the start of my Velveteen lop program. I do not want to be making this post but unfortunately I see no other option. I have contacted the breeder many times, Facebook shows they are active very often but I have not gotten a response. (These pictures are to show weight and ear control)
I got him and another VL doe transported to me on Friday, he was only on board for a day and the girls weight is fine so transport is not to blame for his weight issues. I have been free feeding him the whole time and have started on oats and BOSS to try and get his weight up.
As for his ear control, I was not made aware of it, if I knew about it then I honestly wouldn't have purchased him. You can see in some of the photos I have his ear pushed to the proper position, they will stay like that until he starts moving and then it goes back to the other side. I have ruled out that it's caused by weather or stress as it's been in the 60's for a few days and he is not the least bit stressed. After seeing some of the photos I was sent and comparing them to him with his ears pushed down in person, it looks very similar so I do believe that his ears were placed down for the photos I was sent.
Neither of these things just happen overnight while on transport. I have tried to contact the breeder many times to get their pedigrees and about his weight/ears. I have been ignored every time. During the initial process of inquiring for them I had very quick responses but once I sent the deposit the responses were less and less. I once waited over 2 weeks to hear anything. I was told I would get parent pictures and updated pictures of the bucks and never received them. Since I've gotten the rabbits I've gone on their website and there are a few reviews saying that they've had the same problems or similar problems as me. Especially regarding the lack of response afterwards for their pedigrees.
I hate doing this, I would rather be uplifting other breeders but I don't know how else to get their attention. I know other people who have had issues with this breeder. I see plenty of positive reviews about them, many people I know, respect, and look up to in this community even follow this person. So this is not to say not to buy from them but be cautious, we all have our own experiences and opinions on people. That being said, I do not want to tag this rabbitry, if you know who it is thennn🤷♀️. I'm just hoping this reaches them.
