This is Sliding Rock in the Pisgah National Forest, about 15 miles from where I grew up. I haven’t been down in 7 years. After today’s heat, I am missing it. The water is 55 degrees year round. For years, we slid down it on New Year’s Day. I guess was the mountain version of a Polar Plunge.
