🐾🌙 Happy International Cat Day!
Today we celebrate the magnificent, mysterious, hilarious, complicated, loving beings who have somehow convinced us that they are doing us a favor by sharing their homes with us. 😂
But beyond the purrs, the zoomies, the head bumps, the midnight races, and the occasional decision to use our arms as a launching pad…
our cats have so much to teach us.
They teach us to slow down.
To be present.
To honor our boundaries.
To trust our instincts.
To find joy in the smallest things.
To rest when we need to rest.
And perhaps most importantly, they teach us to listen.
Not just to the sounds they make, but to their behavior, their energy, their preferences, their patterns, and the messages they are constantly sharing with us.
Every cat is an individual. Every cat has a story. Every cat has something uniquely their own to teach the humans fortunate enough to share their lives.
So today, take a moment to look at your cat and ask yourself:
“What is my cat teaching me?”
You might be surprised by what comes to you. 💜
Happy International Cat Day to every cat - the beloved house cats, the barn cats, the community cats, the rescued cats, the foster cats, the mischievous cats, the senior cats, the shy cats, the bold cats, and every beautiful soul in between.
May we always remember that we are not simply sharing our lives with cats.
We are learning from them.
