‼️FOUND DOGS‼️

These two pups were found running at large at the GC Jail, the human one. Before they could make their escape, they unfortunately messed around and got locked up. Although they are giving some pretty innocent looks, they were caught red pawed in the act of the crime. Yep, in jail, the doggy one to be exact. We want to be able to say free them till it's backwards, all toebeans down behind them, but we need to find their owner first. There won't even be any "charges" since they're first-time offenders, they're just ready to get home!

If you or anyone you know may own these two criminals, we mean cuties, please come bail them out!

In all seriousness, these two are as sweet and loving as they can be, and we know they have to belong to someone! Please share!

‼️FOUND DOG‼️

While we are excited to have one going out today, we had another come in.

This little fluff was found running in the area of Roper's. Very sweet little cutie, although they do seem to have been outside for quite some time. They are here and safe, and we are hoping someone may recognize them.

If you or anyone you know may own this dog, please reach out to our office or come by to speak with us.

Thank you and please share!

🩷ADOPTED🩷

The Husky has found a loving home where she will have another Husky sister to play with. She will be leaving this afternoon to join their crew.

We thank everyone for their concern, understanding, and help to get this dog pushed out there and seen. We want to extend a special thank you to Durham Veterinary Clinic for getting her in so quickly today to have a routine checkup and to be vetted.

While every share, comment, phone call, text, and inquiry has been appreciated, we want to remind everyone to please choose kindness. Our employees have been faced with many individuals that were less than respectful, and instead of being helpful with a sensitive case, they used this situation to demean, disrespect, and discourage our employees. While we understand everyone has strong feelings, we encourage you to be supportive and remember that this career field is just as heartbreaking as it is rewarding, and it is a HARD job. There is nothing that you can say to our employees that they have not already thought themselves and discussed amongst one another, but what we will not tolerate is verbal abuse of our staff. There are many ways to ascertain the validity behind a statement without hurtful words.

Thank you!

‼️ATTENTION‼️

Recently there was a post made on another platform in reference to this dog, we want to make sure everyone is aware that this animal is not on a euthanasia list, nor does she have a date set. That is not, and never will be, how our shelter handles this matter, and we believe there has been some confusion.

She is, however, a risk to her own health and well-being; she is rapidly declining in a shelter environment. We are struggling to get her to eat, she is attempting to and has succeeded in escaping our outside fence twice, and we truly feel time is of the essence in finding her a HOME.

Being in the shelter weighs heavily on animals no matter how well they are being taken care of, being a Husky, she needs mental and physical stimulation that we unfortunately cannot provide to her like a HOME can. She has been here for a month now, and over the last week we have noticed a serious decline in her and her quality of life.

We want the best for every animal that steps its paw into our building, and we reach out to people in the community, whether it is rescue organizations, individuals that we know who may own or know about a breed, our vet team, someone who may have turned the animal in, and more. We truly do our best to give these animals a wonderful outcome.

If you or anyone you know would be interested in this husky, PLEASE reach out or come by our office to meet with her. She is not on a list; we will be here working with her to eat more and try to stay calm and safe. This has become urgent in the fact that she is shutting down, she is declining, and her quality of life is diminishing. We do our best, and we appreciate the ones who help us achieve the goal of finding all animals here a home, and we do not use the guise of a negative outcome to push for that.

🐾💙AVALIABLE FOR ADOPTION💙🐾

Meet Big Red, also known as our resident Bashful. This sweetheart can be a little timid upon first meeting, but all he truly wants is love and a nice place to chill out and nap. New humans make him nervous sometimes, and honestly we can't blame him because we often feel the same. However, he does love to play with our friendly neighborhood deer, and is good with other dogs of any size! Sometimes he even gets a wild hair and gives us a good show of the zoomies before he is ready to prance back inside and lay down for a good snooze.

This big ole teddy bear is fully vetted, to include neuter, and is ready to go when you are, though maybe at a nice easy going pace. We love our days spent with him as he is just an easy going fella, and never causes a ruckus. Great on leash, potty trained, and cool as a cucumber.

He would make a great companion for anyone as long as they give him a couple days to show it and get familiar with them. We will hate to let him go, but it is time, he's ready for the home life. 💙

🐾🩷AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION🩷🐾

Our sweet Sheba girl is up for adoption! She is one of kind, has a personality out of this world, and is so sweet! She has been fully vetted, to include spay, she is potty trained, does well on leash, and is ready for fun outside or a tv marathon of Bluey on the couch.

Sheba has been friendly with all dogs she has encountered, but she does have some beef with cats, and would do best in a home without them. She's literally just a girl, okay? 💅 Miss Sheba also LOVES to meet new people, and is very forward about making new friends, she does not meet a stranger, so be mindful of that when meeting her, and allowing her to meet others, as she is a biggun (don't tell her we said that, she's a perfect size queen, capeesh?) She does great with corrections, knows how to sit, and calm down when asked. She also loves to go for rides, and will take you up on the offer to go any chance she is given, because get in loser she is ready to go shopping for new tennis balls. This girl is one of the highlights of our days, and as much as we will hate to see her go, we want to watch her leave with her new human(s).

Call or come by to talk with us more about our resident diva, we're positive she will make someone an awesome companion! In all seriousness, give this girl a chance, she will have you wrapped around her pretty paws in no time. 🩷
