Welcome to the SUNDAY STORY. Our weekly post that highlights one of our adoptable rescue dogs. We hope to tell their moving stories of hardship, resilience, and triumph all in an effort to find their forever families. So please take the time to watch and read, and PLEASE ‘like’, ‘share’, ‘repost’. With YOUR HELP we can get these amazing dogs out of the rescue and into good homes.
ZEUS - On Memorial Day weekend we celebrate the start of summer with outdoor activities and family gatherings. We thought it would be a good time to tell you about Zeus’ journey, who loves few things more than outdoor activities with the people he loves. Zeus has been at Hudson Paws for over a year. He was abandoned by his family and left to roam the streets near Albany, he nearly died. He was captured by local animal control who tried to get him into county shelters. He was due to be euthanized. Luckily one of the officers knew us from a previous case… we made room for him. He was malnourished, quiet, and seemed sadly resigned to a life of struggle. We got him vet care, love, safety, and lots of exercise. Unlike some of our traumatized dogs, Zeus was quick to come out of his shell and show his magnificent personality. He warmed to the staff and volunteers immediately. He is now in olympic-ready shape, he is a master at fetch… a real athlete! He has a gorgeous silky black coat. He loves to gaze into our eyes with his soulful brown eyes. He is also very social and loves every person he meets!
Why is he still here? Because he is a big staffy/pitt mix and they often get unfairly judged. Zeus is a BIG LOVE! He is house trained, leash trained, great at ‘sit’, and really wants to please. We know the right person is out there. Could it be you? Is there anyone in your life who comes to mind?
