Welcome to the SUNDAY STORY.

MARVIN - On this Father’s Day we want to tell you the story of our only official DAD at the rescue. Marvin is here with his son and daughter, Moby and Mocha. He has been with us for over a year, 444 days to be exact.

He had an extremely rough start in life. He was living in a home where there was severe domestic violence. The three dogs were crammed into one small crate for weeks on end with very few bathroom breaks or food. The woman finally managed to flee the situation. She could have gone quickly on her own, but with her bravery she took the extra time to load all the dogs safely into her car. They continued living out of the car while she desperately tried every SPCA and shelter across several counties, no one would take the dogs. We received a call from a friend about their situation. Our Founder would not let these dogs go ignored. She drove six hours to rescue them and she made room for them despite the fact that we had no kennel space. They were malnourished, had terrible sores and urine stained fur… they were somber, they were traumatized. We can only imagine what Marvin was feeling as he lived through all of this. We got him medical care, a safe environment, and surrounded him with love. He is healthy, happy, and thriving.

The most remarkable part of his story? In spite of all the trauma, he is such an incredibly good and kind boy. He has an old soul and his blue eyes will surely melt your heart. He is smart, athletic, and loves to play catch in the yard. Underneath it all, he is a big lovable goof. He is potty trained, good on leash, loves long hikes, good with all people and dogs, knows ‘sit’ and ‘paw’, and loves attention. He is so ready to get into his forever home.

We know the right person is out there. Could it be you? Is there anyone in your life who comes to mind?

PLEASE ‘like’, ‘share’, ‘repost’.

Welcome to the SUNDAY STORY. Our weekly post that highlights one of our adoptable rescue dogs. We hope to tell their moving stories of hardship, resilience, and triumph all in an effort to find their forever families. PLEASE ‘like’, ‘share’, ‘repost’. With YOUR HELP we can get these amazing dogs out of the rescue and into good homes.

MALAYSIA - She was found with her pal Raylee in Fulton, Georgia living on the streets behind a food bank. They were skinny and riddled with fleas, but they were always just as sweet as can be with anyone who passed by… and they always had each other. They were both taken in by Fulton Animal Shelter and then scheduled for transport to us. They had to undergo intensive heart-worm treatment, and with immense strength, the brave girls managed through all of it. In time we discovered that Malaysia was deaf. We worked with her using hand signals and a lot of patience to get some training under her belt. She has over-excitable energy and exudes love for EVERY person she meets. Nothing thrills her more than when she gets cuddles and belly rubs… she is our big marshmallow! She greets everyone with a happy little smile and big wags. Her best pal, and the only dog she gets along with, has since been adopted. Something happened in her past that made her extremely mistrusting and thus very aggressive towards other dogs. Malaysia needs and deserves someone ready to guide, teach, and love her as much as she will love you. She is truly an amazing girl (and a goofball at times) with a heart of gold and more love than she knows what to do with. She has been with us for 523 days and is patiently awaiting her forever home.

We know the right person is out there. Could it be you? Is there anyone in your life who comes to mind?
