Had a suprise this morning. Little filly healthy and happy! The latest Trooper John baby out of Breeze. Unfortunately she is a dead end for us as far as breeding He momma is a full sister to our other stallion. At least we are back to an even 20 horses now.

Here’s to the owners who are switching out blankets to keep horses warm. Here’s to the owners who don’t blanket because their horses are staying warm.
Here’s to the owners who worry if their horses are warm.
Here’s to the owners who have frozen fingers but make sure the hose has been thoroughly drained before leaving. And here’s to the owners who have to keep the hose inside their house to make sure it doesn’t freeze.
Here’s to the owners who run a boarding facility and don’t sleep because they are constantly checking on everyone’s horses.
Here’s to owners who board their horses wishing they could have them home during these scary temps.
Here’s to the countless headlamps and heated vests needing charged, wet gloves drying on countertops and duct-taped snow boots trying to make it through one more season.
Here’s to the sewing sessions to repair horse blankets.

Weaning the babies today. It is crazy how much they grow in just 4 and 5 months! Bob is on the right and Carson to the left. One baby out of a black and white paint mare MFT and the other from a black mare appendix QH. I wonder what color Trooper John throws to his babies?

I am sad to say the Sparky has crossed the rainbow bridge. The good part is he is reunited with his original owner. Anytime someone wanted to come out and ride, there is always that one “go to” horse that would just behave. The horse at the ranch was always Sparky. Sparky always took care of his rider and gave them the confidence they needed. Sparky was our friends Mo’s horse that she brought from New Jersey. When she passed away Sparky came to live with us. It’s always hard to say goodbye to a good friend, so I will just say until we meet again Sparky.
