🐾💗 NATIONAL DOG DAY — IN MEMORY OF DOLLY PARTON 💗🐾

Today is National Dog Day, a perfect day to celebrate the unconditional love, loyalty, and joy that dogs bring into our lives. 🐶❤️

In memory of Dolly Parton, a woman who spent her life spreading kindness, giving hope, and helping others, we’re asking our Estherville Animal Shelter family to help us continue that spirit of giving.

Dolly once said:

“You’ll never do a whole lot unless you’re brave enough to try.” 💕

So today, we’re asking you to try—try to make a difference for a dog or cat who has nowhere else to turn.

Our shelter goes through SO many supplies every day—dog and cat food, litter, treats, blankets, cleaning supplies, toys, and more. Every donation, no matter how small, helps us continue caring for the animals who depend on us. 🐾

We are looking for someone that loves animals as much as we do to join our Estherville family.

🐾we are hiring for TWO position!
🐾Position #1 is 5 days a week 9am-3pm, the days needed are Monday- Friday. (holiday availability is a MUST!)
🐾Position #2 is Saturday and Sunday 9am-3pm. (holiday availability is a MUST)
🐾This is also a labor intensive job, in & out of kennels, lots of bending over, raking, snow removal as well as horse clean up and much more!
🐾You must have reliable transportation & be a reliable candidate, as the animals depend on YOU for year round care.
🐾Must be 18years or older
🐾NO AMINAL ALLERGIES (we have cats,dogs, goats, chickens & a horse)
🐾Must be able to lift 50+ pounds
🐾Must be able to handle dogs of all breeds/sizes
🐾Must be able to communicate well with other employees, volunteers & managers.
🐾Must have good customer service skills, you will be around many people daily.

Harper and Bert are looking for forever homes, as much as we would love to see them together we know that may not be possible. The only extra care they require is being on a veterinary diet, other than that they are just 2 happy cats looking for the best home(s)!

These three tiny babies were only about 5 weeks old when their world was turned upside down. Their mama was a stray, feral cat who was tragically hit and killed by a car, leaving her kittens behind. 😢🐾

We stepped in and took these babies into our care, and they have been in a loving foster home ever since. They are now roughly 10 weeks old and ready to start looking for forever homes. ❤️

But these kittens are going to need something special…

They have been handled every single day in foster care, and they are learning that people can be kind, gentle and safe. They have made progress, but they are still a little unsure of the world around them.

They may not run into your arms on day one. They may hide. They may need time to trust you.

And that’s okay. ❤️

We are looking for people who will look past the fear and see the sweet babies underneath it. People who will sit quietly with them, offer treats, play with them, talk softly to them and give them the time they need to realize that they are finally safe.

Because somewhere underneath those cautious little faces is a kitten who desperately wants to feel loved. 🥹🐱

They didn’t get to grow up with their mama teaching them that humans are safe. Now we need humans to teach them.

🏠 Approximately 10 weeks old
🐾 Handled and socialized daily in foster care
❤️ Will need continued patience and socialization
🐱 Looking for loving, committed forever homes

Please don’t overlook them because they aren’t instantly cuddly. Give them a chance. Give them time. Give them the opportunity to become the amazing cats we know they can be. ❤️

This weeks second chance Saturday is a little bit different than normal earlier this week we were brought in three orphaned kittens that were taken in by Blossom who had her three kittens on July 6th. The three orphan kittens are believed to be about three weeks old. Once all of the kittens are ready, we will be taking applications to find them all the best fit homes.
