We're very sad to announce that last night, our goat Bailey passed away in her sleep.

Bailey was showing some signs of distress last summer. We got her checked out by Tufts, and results were not definitive at first. A couple months later, she was losing weight and showing labored breathing. We took her in for more diagnosis and unfortunately she tested positive for CAE. With no known treatment, the only thing we could do is try to give her a good quality of life. Unfortunately she continued to struggle and it was finally her time. We're heartbroken to say goodbye.

I LOVE SANCTUARY DAYS! Especially if it’s my friends at Milk Thistle Farm ! This is Brianne🐐 and she is the leader of the welcome wagon😆 I love her and how could you not?! Just look at that face! Also, fun facts it was 16 degrees during this fine appointment 🥶❄️ So be sure to check back this afternoon to see how we helped the pigs feel their best during their hoof trims 🥰

Yesterday, we had to say goodbye to these sweet babies. We've cared for them, cuddled them, fed them, and watched over them since they were a week old. They started the long journey to their forever sanctuary where they will get to live out their lives in large pastures with other cows. It was bittersweet...fostering and rescue is so rewarding but so hard. Saying goodbye was so difficult and marked with tears. We wish them the best and we're glad we got to be a part of their journey.

We're grateful to have known you, Dexter and Deborah.
