Xylitol, also known as Birch Bark Extract, Birch Sugar and Wood Sugar, widely used as a sugar substitute.

Early intervention is key, Call your Veterinarian and Pet Poison Control as soon as your dog has consumed Xylitol. Supportive therapy includes fluid support and medication to treat your dog's clinical signs. Be prepared to have your dog stay in the hospital through the day with mild cases and a few days in more severe cases.

As temperatures climb, the risk of heatstroke for our beloved pets rises too.

Signs of heatstroke to monitor:

🚨Excessive panting or drooling
🚨Bright red gums or tongue
🚨Weakness,staggering or collapse
🚨Vomiting or diarrhea
🚨Confusion or glazed eyes

⚠️ High risk groups: brachycephalic breeds (like Bulldogs and Pugs), senior dogs, overweight pups, and those with health issues are especially vulnerable.

🛑 Call your veterinarian right away, it's an emergency!!!

Bobcat Fever is still being seen in our area. We have now in clinic Revolution Plus topical for protection from the carrier, the Lone Star Tick.

The clinic has had food donated so there is now some cat and kitten food in the Blessing Box next door at the Mobile gas station.
