The rabbits are all groomed! So far Mattie’s rabbits have a purple and a red for her fur entries! Tomorrow is the rabbit show. She’ll be in and out all day because of the fashion r***e! It’s a busy state fair!!

This was yesterday at the River Valley rabbit show. I didn't post our results yet because we're all a bit down. This cold snap took six of our older rabbits. We weren't showing them anymore due to their age but we loved them very much. It's bittersweet when you know you owe so much to the animals that started your program.
Here are our results:
Best of Breed Beveren,
Best of variety black Mini Rex,
best opposite variety lilac Mini Rex, best of variety black Mini Satin,
and second blue solid pattern Holland Lop.
A Mini Rex from our barn took best of breed as well. We were so excited for the younger 4-Her who won that very competitive award!

Another State Fair rabbit show in the books! Here are Mattie's results!

Beveren--
(Neville) Best of Breed, Best of Variety, Purple in fur.
(Percy) Best of variety
(Luna) DQ'd for a white toenail

Holland Lop--
(Lopfyette) Second in class

Himalayan--
(Frodo) Third in class

Mini Rex--

(Eliza) Second in class
(Lin Manuel) Seventh in class
(Ophelia) Fourth in class
(Hamlet) Second in class
(Angelica) Third in class

Not a bad show! One big win and several small victories. 🙂

We also sold three rabbits, bought a new Holland doe we have named Marie, and Mattie won a beautiful breeding pair of black mini satins (a new breed for us) who she has named Romeo and Juliet!

The state fair is always so fun. We visit with old friends and make new ones! The rabbit community is such a blessing!

Today the nesting boxes went into cages with--we hope--expecting mammas! If all goes well we'll have six litters by the end of the week and one more next week. We love baby bunnies!

Well, after a fun time at rabbit therapy we moved a bunch of does into the honeymoon suite tonight! Hopefully in 30 days we'll have Holland Lops, Himalayans, Beverns (blue and white), and two more litters of Mini Rex. :) We love spring!

Needed: We're collecting two-liter bottles to help ice Mattie's bunnies again this year. If you have any sitting around, ready to be recycled, let me know! I'd be happy to come take them off your hands! This weather is so hard on Mattie's rabbits. We like to put ice in with them to keep them cool!

Mattie had a good morning at the Riley Rabbit Show! She received best opposite variety Holland Lop, best of variety chocolate Mini Rex, and chocolate Himilayan. She also pulled several 2nds in her Mini Rex classes. And, she came home with a new Beveren breeding pair! Now on to work the new horse at grandma and papa's! Summer rocks!!
