When a polar vortex comes through it means a few changes at the barn to keep everyone warm! The horses have a natural hierarchy over the cows, so sometimes we have to separate the cows for their own good.

Paddington was not a fan of walking through the thick crunchy snow/ice, but ever curious, he did make his way over to the driveway to watch us as we tried and failed at shoveling! What a sweet sweet boy!!! 😘

Trying to get ready for the snow storm by running some extension cords to the goat barn for heated waters... I clearly didn't think this through as it's still not goat proof!! Thank you Gronk for teaching me I've got more to do!

We had a big scare with Ellie groaning and rolling in discomfort, classic signs of colic. A big thanks to Alexia and Samar who immediately jumped into action! Poor Ellie was such a trooper when she had to be tubed for a milk of magnesia treatment. She was confined in the barn for one night and monitored, luckily her appetite returned (and she was pooping normally). Big relief that it wasn't serious!
