🌸✨ PART 3: ISN’T SHE BEAUTIFUL?! ✨🌸
Our fans have spoken, and we would LOVE to officially introduce the newest member of Mavroudis Poodle Rescue…

💗 DOLLY PARTON! 💗

Named after an iconic legend, Dolly feels like the perfect name for this beautiful girl and the perfect way to begin her brand-new chapter. 🌈🦋

Just look at her. Isn’t she BEAUTIFUL?! 🥹💕

When Dolly arrived, we knew there was something special hiding underneath all of that painful, neglected, matted fur. What we uncovered during her grooming was heartbreaking—but through every single moment, Dolly remained incredibly patient and sweet.

And now… THIS is the girl who was hiding underneath it all. 🥹

No more matted hair.
No more urine and f***s trapped against her skin.
No more fleas hiding beneath a neglected coat.
No more carrying around the physical evidence of someone failing to give her the basic care she deserved.

From here forward, we’re wishing for nothing but rainbows, butterflies, belly rubs, fresh starts, and happy endings. 🌈🦋💗

Dolly is already spayed—her little green tattoo gave that away! 💚 She is now microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm tested NEGATIVE, and has been started on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
Now comes the best part: finding out exactly who Dolly is beneath that old coat and helping her find the family meant for her. 🏡❤️

Interested in adopting Dolly? Please submit an adoption application through the link below.

We KNOW she is lovely—and we know that adorable face may have everyone reaching for their phones! 😂 But please do not call, text, or email after submitting an application. We will carefully work through each application and complete our normal due diligence to determine which home is the best fit for Dolly’s individual needs.

Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption, and this will not be first-come, first-served. Our responsibility is to find the home that is right for her. 💗

Thank you to everyone who followed Parts 1 and 2, suggested names, cheered her on, and reminded us once again why rescue matters.

Welcome to your new life, Dolly Parton. 🌸
Your past may have brought you to us…
…but it does not get to define where you go from here. 🌈🦋

Isn’t she beautiful?! 💕🐩

🐩💜 PART 2: WHAT WAS HIDING BENEATH THE MATTED FUR? 💜🐩

The grooming process has officially begun for our newest LifeLine DeKalb intake—and this was NOT an easy groom.

But this girl? Absolute perfection on the grooming table. 🥹

Despite what had to be an uncomfortable and exhausting process, she stood there and trusted us. We went through several clipper blades trying to carefully work through the thick, tightly matted coat that had been neglected for far too long.

And as the mats began coming away, we started discovering what had been trapped underneath.

💔 F***s embedded within the matted coat
💔 Urine-soaked fur sitting against her skin
💔 Yard debris, likely collected during her tight wandering as a stray
💔 Horrific, tightly matted hair around and in her ears
💔 Fleas and a moderate amount of flea dirt hiding beneath that thick coat
💔 Severely overgrown nails
Fashionably long nails are for people—not dogs. 💅🐾

This wasn't simply an overdue haircut.
For dogs with coats like hers, routine grooming is a basic part of their health and welfare. Once matting becomes this severe, everything from urine and f***s to moisture, parasites and debris can become trapped against the skin.

Yet through ALL of it…

Not once did she complain.

No drama. No fight. She simply stood there and allowed us to help her—as though she somehow understood that every pass of those clippers was taking her one step farther away from the life she had been living.

And beneath all that neglect, we also discovered some GOOD news! 💜

During her intake care, we confirmed that she IS already spayed—she has the little green tattoo to prove it! 💚 She is now microchipped, vaccinated and heartworm tested NEGATIVE, and she has been started on flea, tick and heartworm prevention.
Yesterday she was a stray sitting beneath a coat that told a story of neglect.

Today, that coat is coming off.

And underneath it?

We are beginning to see the beautiful girl who was there all along. 🥹🐩

✨ But we're not showing you everything just yet…

Follow along for PART 3: THE GREAT REVEAL—when you finally get to see her incredible transformation, her inner beauty shining through, AND…

🥁🥁🥁 HER OFFICIAL NEW NAME! 💜
Just wait until you see her. 🐾✨

🐩💔 PART 1: What Lives Beneath Neglected Fur…

What happens when a Poodle or Doodle isn’t routinely groomed?

Sometimes what looks like an overgrown, matted coat from the outside is hiding something far more serious underneath.

Today, this beautiful girl came to Mavroudis Poodle Rescue from DeKalb County through LifeLine Animal Project, and she is officially getting the second chance she deserves. ❤️

She needs so much more than “just a haircut.”

As we gently feel beneath the layers of severely neglected, matted fur, what we can feel underneath is heartbreaking—and honestly difficult to imagine. Matting this severe can pull painfully against the skin and conceal wounds, infections, parasites, inflammation, moisture, f***l material, and other medical problems that simply cannot be fully evaluated until that coat is carefully removed.

We don’t know yet exactly what we are going to find beneath all of hers.

But we do know one thing:
She will never have to live like this again.

🐾 Stay tuned for PART 2: The Grooming Process

We’ll take you along as those layers come off and this sweet girl begins her transformation—from stray dog, to shelter dog, to RESCUE DOG, and eventually, when she is medically ready, to a girl searching for the forever family she deserved all along. ❤️

And right now, she needs something else…

✨ A NAME! ✨

Drop your name ideas in the comments! We would love for our Mavroudis Poodle Rescue community to help us choose the perfect name for the beautiful girl hiding underneath all that neglected fur.

This is why grooming Poodles and Doodles isn’t cosmetic.

Grooming is healthcare. Grooming is prevention. And sometimes, grooming reveals a story the fur has been hiding.

🐩❤️ Welcome to rescue, sweet girl. Your new life starts today.

🐩💜 SOMETIMES, ALL WE KNOW IS THAT THEY NEED US. 💜🐩

Tonight, DeKalb County reached out asking if we could assist with a recent white poodle mix who needs rescue.

And of course our response was basically…
“Hold on—give us a few minutes to send some messages.” 😂

Because as a 100% foster-based rescue, saying YES starts with finding a safe foster home.

Well, here we are at 11:30 PM, and thanks to some pretty amazing people, WE HAVE A FOSTER! 🙌🐾

🚗 NOW WE NEED ONE MORE PIECE OF THE PUZZLE — TRANSPORTATION!

If anyone is available tomorrow to help transport our newest girl from the DeKalb County shelter to Grayson, GA, please reach out to us! Even when we secure the foster, it still takes volunteers willing to help us get these babies safely from the shelter into rescue. 💜

She has a safe place to land until at least next Sunday, when the Poodle Mom finally returns from her “real paying job.” 🤣 And she absolutely cannot wait to get back home to the incredibly peaceful, quiet, never-ever-chaotic rescue life waiting for her. 😂

In all seriousness, sometimes those work trips are almost a chance to catch my breath.

But anyone who runs a rescue while also working full-time knows that your brain never really clocks out.

Even while I'm away, there are foster homes to check on, volunteers and transporters to coordinate, veterinary appointments to schedule, medical expenses to cover, applications to review, veterinary references to verify, rental policies to confirm for potential adopters…and about 900 other things running through your head at any given moment.

The hardest part isn't always saying yes.
It's making sure that after you say yes, nothing—and no one—falls through the cracks.

And tonight, we said YES to her. ❤️
Right now, we know very little about this sweet girl. Her past is essentially a blank page. We don't know what she's experienced, what she's been through, or even who she will become once she realizes she's safe.

And honestly, that's one of the most rewarding parts of rescue.

Tomorrow begins her FREEDOM RIDE. 🐾
She'll leave the shelter behind and enter a foster home where she can decompress, breathe, and simply exist without anyone expecting anything from her. We'll give her time, get her medically evaluated, and slowly learn who this beautiful little girl really is.

Tonight, she's a shelter dog with an unknown past.
Tomorrow, she's a Mavroudis Poodle Rescue dog with an entire future ahead of her. 💜🐩

But we still need TWO things from our village:

🚗 A volunteer who can help transport her from DeKalb County to Grayson tomorrow.

🐾 A NAME for our newest little mystery girl!
Drop those name suggestions below! 👇🥰

And if you're able to help with transportation, please send us a message ASAP.

🐾 Welcome to Mavroudis Poodle Rescue, sweet girl. Your story starts tomorrow. 🐾

✨ WELCOME HOPE, aka “Dolly”✨

🩷 she’s perfect in every way!

Please help us welcome Hope, an adorable 6-month-old Pomeranian, to the Mavroudis Poodle Rescue family!

She may not be a poodle, but this tiny fluff ball has already reminded us that rescue doesn’t care what breed you are. ❤️ Hope is a sweet little girl with an adorable
personality who gets along well with other dogs and is ready to find a family who understands that small dogs still need training, structure, enrichment, and proper grooming.

🐾 A little Pomeranian 101 for Hope’s future family:

Pomeranians have a beautiful double coat, consisting of a soft, dense undercoat and a longer outer coat. Unlike our poodles, Pomeranians DO shed, and keeping that gorgeous fluff healthy requires regular maintenance.

✨ Routine brushing is important to prevent tangles and matting, especially behind the ears, around the legs, and other high-friction areas.

✨ Regular professional grooming, including thorough bathing, drying/blowouts, brushing, nail care, and sanitary maintenance, will help keep her skin and coat healthy.

🚫 Pomeranians should not routinely be shaved down. Clipping a double coat very short can sometimes affect how it grows back and may lead to coat changes. A consistent grooming schedule is a much better way to manage all that Pom fluff!
And don’t let Hope’s tiny size fool you. Pomeranians are known for being bright, lively, confident little dogs who benefit tremendously from positive training, socialization, boundaries, and mental enrichment.

Hope would love a family willing to continue working with her on crate/kennel training and house-training as she grows. At only six months old, she’s still very much a puppy and has plenty to learn!

🎓 We strongly encourage our puppy adopters to enroll in a positive-reinforcement puppy class. Training isn’t just for big dogs—it helps build confidence, strengthens communication, provides healthy socialization, and gives puppies skills that can last a lifetime.

🏡 INTERESTED IN ADOPTING HOPE?
Please submit an adoption application and identify Hope – 6-month-old Pomeranian on your application.

📵 PLEASE DO NOT CALL OR TEXT regarding Hope.

We know the tiny fluffy babies can generate a LOT of interest! We will review all applications before beginning to make decisions or contact potential families. We do not choose a home based simply on who applies first. As we do with every MPR baby, our goal is to find the home that is the best match for Hope’s individual needs for a lifetime.

Welcome to your second chance, little Hope. 🩷🐾
