We never give up hope that Jack will find the perfect home someday. It’s been almost 1 year since he came to us from Saving Webster Dog’s kennels. He has come out of his shell, from the most frightened dog I’ve ever seen, to a living member of the family. He does well with dogs, kids and cats. With a few footnotes and exceptions. He loves people. Loves to play and go for hikes on our land. Interested adopters may apply via text 207-653-1990. 3 yrs, 65 lbs, adoption fee negotiable.

ADOPT JACK
Hey I’m Jack I’m a 3 year old, 65 lb, terrier mix. I have so much love to give, but you might not know it at first. You see I’m pretty shy guy on account of the fact that I grew up on the street before spending the next 2 years alone in a kennel. Then I came to Maine, and it’s taken me a few months to figure out what all this “family” stuff is and how a “house dog” is supposed to act. But I’m figuring it all out!

They say I’m pretty good with cats, although I’ll chase them sometimes just for kicks. Other times I let them snuggle me. I guess the best thing about me is that I’m best buds with every dog I meet, young and old. I love to wrestle, and I share my toys. All and all I’m a “go with the flow” kind of guy. I let the big dogs run the show; I don’t need to be in charge!

Now protecting the house; that’s another story. You might say it’s my specialty. I bark anytime and every time I think my humans need to know about something! No one comes in the driveway without me sounding an alarm! No bad guys get past ME!

But coming up close second in my long list of talents is my supreme leash-walking ability. I’m a perfect gentleman on my walks. And guess what, if you let me off leash, I’ll come back like a boomerang!

But the funniest thing about me is that I like to sleep between the humans, on my back with all 4 feet in the air. They say it’s hilarious. I say “don’t all dogs sleep this way? How else can I share your pillow?” But the secret is I’m really a closet snuggle bug.

I guess I’m the whole package because I am terrific at chillin’ all day. As long as I get a walk and a some play time, I’m happy to hang at home while you work.

If you have room in your heart and your life to win over a shy guy like me, I promise to make you my world!
Come meet me in New Gloucester, Maine. I’d love to do a sleepover at your house this week!

A German Shepherd is not just a dog; it's a guardian angel with a fur coat.

Is your dog overweight? This has worked for helping my dogs loss the extra lbs, without cutting out treats:
1.) feed the recommended amount for the weight you want them to be, not the weight they are.
2.) Use a precise measuring cup.
3.) Every month reduce the amount of food you are giving by 1/4 cup per meal (no more than 10%) until you see improvement.

UPDATE: Adoption Pending!!
Meet Joy (a.k.a Sasha)! This 4-year-old German Shepherd is a bundle of loyalty and affection! She loves all people but has a super soft spot in her heart for men and children. This gentle gal is generally easy on a leash and will need minimal daily exercise. She’s a low-key, quiet lady who would make a great companion, rides well in the car, and is potty trained. She feels safest when she can be with the ones she loves.
Because of her high prey drive, as well as her tendency to get protective of resources and affection, she would be best as the only pet in your home, or with one other laid back or older dog.
So far, everyone who has met her has fallen instantly in love with this precious girl. We know you will too! Rehoming fee $150. Easy and fast application process! Text 207-653-1990
