How exciting it is to see these horses grow! Willie and Kirina (also known as Patty) both came here several months ago and became permanent residents at Ponderosa Horsemanship. They have turned into such willing and safe partners for their riders. I love seeing such full-circle moments with these horses. It shows me that this is what it’s all about.

Groundwork is the key to a good foundation! It's sometimes slow and boring, but it is very telling of the horse's mind. It's one of my favorite things to do and is a special window of time before I introduce the saddle to them and ride.

Regardless if your horse is working under saddle or still an unstarted c**t, I always make sure to start every new horse on the ground in order to set the rest of our sessions up for success.
