German Shepherd lovers act now. Maple was living with a family and another dog when all of a sudden her world turned upside down. For days she was roaming in south Grapevine. A Good Samaritan was able to collect her and bring her to the shelter. She waited for her owners quite patiently, alas, that was not in the cards and she is available for adoption.

This sweet girl needs a home that will cherish her. She is heartworm positive, however, this is covered by the shelter and our loving veterinary team will guide and support you throughout the treatment process.

We have exciting news! Our Clear the Shelters Day this past Saturday resulted in 21 adoptions. Thank you to all who had fun with kitten yoga, savored delicious coffee, and mingled with adoptable animals.

So far this month, 69 animals have been adopted. Can we hit 100?

He might look a tad silly with his tongue out…we think it’s part of his charm. Frankie’s teeth were in extremely poor shape—basically falling out and causing infection. Luckily, we have a caring veterinary team to help animals in need.

Life is good with enrichment! Friends, fun, and something new to explore are the highlights of our dogs’ day. On Saturday, they could be the highlight of yours, too. Every dog you see here will have their adoption fee waived this Saturday, August 16th, so you can make their life (and yours) really, really good.

Why enrichment matters:
Enrichment gives shelter pets more than just something to do; it keeps their minds sharp, builds confidence, relieves stress, and brings out their best selves. Whether they’re sniffing for treats in a ball pit, splashing in a kiddie pool, or romping with friends, enrichment exercises their brains and bodies!

Summer Enrichment Ideas for Your Pets (safe & fun!)

Frozen Treat Cubes → Freeze dog-safe fruits or treats in water or broth for a cool, interactive snack.

Scent Games → Hide treats or toys in safe spaces (like cardboard boxes or snuffle mats) and let your pet “hunt.”

Water Play → Use a shallow kiddie pool or sprinkler to let water-loving pets splash and cool off.

DIY Puzzle Feeders → Place kibble inside a plastic bottle with holes or a muffin tin with tennis balls over each cup.

Shaded Outdoor Adventures → Morning or evening walks to avoid heat, with plenty of water breaks.
