(260)

We adopt to all lower 48 contiguous states. 🐾 No Pug Left Behind!
👉 Our Links: https://linktr.ee/dfwpugrescue Mission Statement: DFW Pug Rescue Club, Inc. was formed for the purpose of providing rescue, care and adoption of unwanted, mistreated or homeless pugs. DFW Pug Rescue Club was founded in early 1996 and incorporated in July 1997 as a charitable, non-profit corporation. We are one of the l

argest pug rescue organizations in the United States having rescued and placed over 8,500 pugs. Veterinary care is our biggest expense averaging $220,000 a year. All pugs rescued are taken immediately to the vet where they are examined, tested and treated for parasites, infections, vaccinated, sterilized, and microchipped before being placed in a foster or permanent home. DFWPRC is an all-volunteer, foster-based organization — there are no paid positions. We do not have a staging area to hold our rescue pugs. We depend on the generosity of our volunteers to provide foster homes until permanent homes can be located. You can help to promote our mission and be a part of this exciting volunteer opportunity. Please visit our website and social media sites for information on DFW Pug Rescue. We rescue pugs in Texas, Louisiana, and parts of New Mexico since there are no pug rescues in those other areas!

🚨 Boudreaux is a tiny boy, only 1 year old, who came to us from Fort Worth Animal Shelter with bilateral hip dysplasia. This means he has weakness in his hind end, drags his legs, and cannot walk up stairs. Because of it, he has mild muscle atrophy bilaterally in his hind limbs.

He can live a totally normal life though… with a $3,900 surgery.

So here we go again.

Yes, we’re going to ask for donations, we simply have to.

BUT this time, we’re also going to ask for HELP. If you aren’t able to donate right now, please skip down to the red heart emoji.

❤️ We need more than donations right now.. we need people willing to help us build something sustainable. We’re looking for 3+ volunteers who can dedicate around 10 hours per week to helping launch our new fundraising program. This role is ideal for people with experience in sales, business development, nonprofit fundraising & sponsorships, community partnerships, account management, marketing, or simply someone who is comfortable reaching out to businesses and building relationships. Send us a message or apply to volunteer if you’re interested in learning more. Full details to come.

Soon we will also be posting for multiple volunteer spots across social media, events, pug operations, and more (can be in DFW or remote anywhere). If you’re interested in helping outside of fundraising, please apply to volunteer here and we’ll be in touch soon: https://www.dfwpugs.com/volunteer-application

1-year-old Glokie is a playful boy with a sweet spirit and a heart that’s still learning the world is a safe place.

He enjoys chewing on toys and bones, entertaining himself, and playing with other dogs. When life feels overwhelming, Glokie finds comfort in his favorite safe space: his crate. He is making great progress with house training, has good leash manners, and is an enthusiastic eater with no food aggression. Glokie loves Benebones, chew toys, and anything he can carry around and investigate.

Glokie would thrive in a patient home that can help build his confidence and celebrate his progress. He enjoys other dogs but would also be happy as an only pet. A calm household with understanding adopters will help him shine.

Give this shy little guy a chance, and you’ll watch his confidence (and your heart) grow every day.

7-month-old Kibbles is a playful, affectionate fawn-and-brindle Frenchie/Pug mix bursting with puppy charm. He loves plush toys, tug-of-war, walks, treats, and making new dog friends.

Full of curiosity and enthusiasm, Kibbles is always ready for his next adventure, or a cuddle session with his favorite people.

Kibbles is nearly house-trained, crate-trained, and sleeps through the night without a peep. He’s an excellent eater with polite mealtime manners and loves sharing toys and initiating play with other dogs. On leash, he can be a little excited at first but settles quickly and enjoys his walks.

Kibbles would thrive in an active home with a playful canine companion and older children who can match his puppy energy. A cat-free home or slow introductions to cats would be ideal.

If your home needs more fun, more laughter, and more puppy kisses, Kibbles is ready to bring them all!

1-year-old Orchid is a sweet girl who loves playtime and cuddle time. She loves being close to her people, soaking up all the attention, and then curling up for a cozy nap in her dog bed.

Orchid is house-trained, walks well on leash, has excellent manners around the home, and is happiest when she’s included in daily family life. This affectionate young lady gets along well with other dogs but would also thrive as the center of attention in a home of her own.

She’s food-motivated and prefers dining in her own space. Orchid would do best with a family where someone is home often to enjoy her loyal companionship and endless affection.

Looking for the complete petite 13-pound pug package? Orchid is ready to bloom into your heart!

Frog’s journey started in heartbreak.. After being abandoned, he was left alone in an apartment for MONTHS.

What followed was a long road of healing, trust, and patience.

Thanks to his incredible foster, Brooke, Frog learned what safety feels like again… and slowly became the sweet, affectionate pug he was always meant to be.

Today, Frog is home with his forever family in Round Rock, playing with his pug brother Bandit and soaking up all the love he missed for so long.

We couldn’t be more grateful for the people who made his second chance possible.

Happy forever, Frog. 🐸❤️

Tammy and her family have now welcomed 11 foster pugs into their home, each one helping shape their fostering journey.

“We have fostered 11 pugs so far and we have had so much fun! It’s so rewarding helping a little pug during a really scary time in their life.”

She says one of the most meaningful parts is simply helping them feel safe again.

“We love their kind loving demeanor. And to hug and console them and let them know they are safe and that we care.”

And while saying goodbye is never easy, Tammy says the trust built through rescue makes all the difference.

“When it comes time for them to meet their forever people or person, it is hard, but the adopters have all been such great people. We have complete confidence in DFW Pug Rescue to vet them well. We know that our foster is going to a good safe home.”

For Tammy, fostering is simply a way to give back while spending time with dogs she already adores.

“It’s really a great experience and if the least we can do is foster a sweet pug to give back to our community, we can do that! It’s actually our pleasure! We love pugs!!”

Every foster home helps give a pug comfort, stability, and time to heal before their next chapter begins.

If you’re in the DFW area and have room in your home for a pug in need, we’d love to welcome you to our foster family. 🐾

3-year-old Kenobi is a playful, affectionate pug mix boy with a big heart who loves cuddles, squeaky toys, chew toys, mini tennis balls, walks, and being included in whatever his family is doing.

Kenobi is eager-to-please and happiest when he’s close to his humans. He is house-trained, crate-trained, dog door proficient, and walks perfectly on a leash. Kenobi prefers not to share treats or meals and appreciates space at mealtime.

While he gets along well with dogs and enjoys canine companionship, he would truly thrive as an only dog where he can relish all the attention.

He may take a little time to warm up to new people, especially men, but patience and gentle introductions help his sweet personality shine.

If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick who will be your shadow, cuddle buddy, and adventure partner, Kenobi is ready to steal your heart!
