“Puffin”
Puffin is a versatile Golden Retriever whose accomplishments span the show ring, field, performance venues, and therapy work. A UKC Champion and Multiple Best Puppy in Show winner, she is one of our primary upland bird dogs, a therapy dog with WVU, and an active competitor in rally, obedience, agility, dock diving, frisbee, and coursing. Puffin was recently awarded an Award of Merit from the Champion class and earned her first Total Dog award at the 2026 UKC Premier Nationals.
True to the Golden Retriever standard, Puffin is a “symmetrical, powerful, active dog” with a “kindly expression” and a personality that is “eager, alert and self-confident.” She combines the trainability, athleticism, and natural hunting ability expected of a sporting retriever with the friendly, outgoing temperament that makes the breed so beloved. Whether she is finding birds in the field, competing in the ring, visiting students on campus, or relaxing at home, Puffin approaches every task with enthusiasm while maintaining the calm, reliable off-switch we value so highly.
Puffin has completed all recommended health clearances and has earned her CHIC number, demonstrating our commitment to preserving the health, soundness, and longevity of the breed.
