🐾 Important Boarding & Vaccine Reminder 🐾

As we head into busy boarding and daycare seasons, we wanted to share an important reminder regarding the Bordetella (Kennel Cough) vaccine.

The Bordetella vaccine is a live vaccine, which means some dogs may experience mild symptoms or may shed the vaccine strain for a short period after receiving it. Because of this, we strongly recommend that dogs receive their Bordetella vaccine at least 14 days (2 weeks) prior to boarding, daycare, grooming, training classes, dog parks, or being around other dogs.

Waiting the full 2 weeks helps:
✔️ Allow your dog’s immune system time to build protection
✔️ Reduce the chance of vaccine-related coughing or irritation
✔️ Help keep all dogs in our care healthy and safe

⚠️ Possible symptoms seen after vaccination or with kennel cough exposure may include:
• Dry, honking cough
• Sneezing
• Nasal discharge
• Mild lethargy
• Reduced appetite
• Mild fever in some cases

Most mild cases resolve with rest and supportive care, but treatment may include:
💊 Cough suppressants
💊 Antibiotics if a secondary infection develops
💧 Increased fluids and rest
🐾 Veterinary evaluation if symptoms worsen or persist

Please plan ahead when scheduling vaccines before your stay with us. If your dog is due for vaccines, we encourage speaking with your veterinarian early to ensure proper timing before boarding.

We treat and sanitize our kennels with Chlorhexidine, hydrogen peroxide, Rescue disinfectant and bleach daily including a fogger for an environmental disinfectant and respiratory relief.

At Georgia Canine, the health and safety of every dog in our care is always our top priority. 🐶❤️

Good Morning!
We hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.

Reminder: If you have requested a bath today for pick-up, please pick up after 2pm as we have numerous baths to complete!!!

We are closed daily from 12-2pm and no pick ups or drop offs are available during that time.

All drop offs and pick ups need to be made by 5:45pm.

Congratulations to Bentley on his Gotcha Day!!! Bentley has been with us from Releash Atlanta for training while they worked to find him the perfect family!! Today he got just that!! We’re so excited to see him go with his new family and brother, Moose, to his fur-ever home and ALL the love ♥️🐾🐶. What an honor to be apart of his story!!!
