🐾 For the Safety of Every Dog in Our Care 🐾

At Georgia Canine, your dog’s health and safety are always our top priority. As a Georgia Department of Agriculture certified and inspected facility, we follow all state regulations to ensure a safe environment for every guest.

By law, all dogs must have a current rabies vaccination with a valid certificate from their veterinarian. To help us maintain these standards, proof of vaccination is required at check-in.

We also recommend DHPP/DHLPP, Kennel Cough(Bordetella), flea medication and deworming for intestinal parasites.

Dogs who do not meet these requirements or do not have valid documentation on hand will not be permitted to check in.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us keep Georgia Canine a safe, happy place for every pup in our care! 🐶💙

This week is off to a great start. Teaching K-9 teams from across the south east is a honor and a privilege. Excited for day two!

Officers and their K-9 partners from multiple states are meeting in Fayette County this week for one of the largest police dog training events in the Southeast.

🐾 Dogs Think Differently Than We Do 🐾

Dogs absolutely have emotions—and they do have memory.
But not in the same way we do.

Humans replay the past, assign meaning, and tell stories in our minds.
Dogs don’t sit around thinking about “what happened yesterday” or “why you left.”

Dogs live in the moment.

They learn through patterns, repetition, and association:
✔️ What works
✔️ What doesn’t
✔️ What gets rewarded
✔️ What to avoid

So when your dog does something “out of spite”…
or looks “guilty”…

They’re not acting on emotion the way we would.
They’re responding to what they’ve learned in that moment.

That’s why training matters.

Clear structure, consistency, and communication
help your dog feel confident, safe, and successful—
because it gives them a world that makes sense.

Train the dog in front of you—not the story in your head.
Unpopular opinion but as Cesar says “if your dog has a problem, sometimes you have to look at yourself first”.
