****PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT ***
We now have had two homeless people come to us with PARVO positive puppies. These puppies have been walking around town and outside of our clinic. If you have a puppy that is not fully vaccinated or an adult dog that is not up to date on vaccines, keep them home. If you are bringing your puppy to us please carry them in.

❤️July’s mega superstar is…….
⭐️ Dr April Borman!!!! ⭐️
We are thrilled to have this dvm with us here at PVC! Dr April hails from the Los Angeles area & is a UC Davis grad!
She’s been living in the GP area for 25 years now & came to us after 22 years at Riverside Park Vet. Her household includes her wonderful husband of 36 years, some cats, some chickens & a heck of a garden! She tends to a menagerie of beautiful flowers & delicious veggies!
Ok guys, check this out:
Dr April’s family has resided in Southern Oregon since 1848!!!👍🏼 Her Great Great Great Grandfather, Obadiah Hoxie, was on The Oregon Trail & is buried in a cemetery in Jacksonville!
And listen to this, folks:✌🏼
Her great grandmother was working on the farm with her brother in Williams way back when and her brother accidentally cut off 4 of her fingers! Well, they put the fingers in a bucket of milk and took the horse and buggy to a hospital in Medford, where the fingers were reattached!
I cannot make this stuff up!

Dr April does the NY Times crossword puzzle each day, loves foxes, makes her own cider,aspired to be a Forensic Pathologist, has traveled internationally very extensively & was smitten by the phenomenal wildlife in South Africa, claims to have a very open palate as far as unusual foods but hates any type of organ meat and her fave genre of food is Thai or Peruvian! 🇵🇪 Whew!😻

Can we all agree that not only is Dr April a very skilled, compassionate & warm veterinarian but she is a most interesting human as well!
We are grateful & lucky to call her our own!🫶🏼

🎁Father’s Day is this Sunday!!🎁

A big shout out to every Father, Grandfather, Step Father etc and a HUGE shout out to the fabulous Animal Dads!! You make such a difference in the animals’ lives by providing shelter, love, games, exercise, discipline (?) and companionship as well as many other important & magnificent things!!

🐩June is National Microchipping Month!!🐈‍⬛ Who knew, right?
If you’re new to this cool option, let’s learn some great stuff!
A pet microchip is a tiny radio frequency identification (RFID) tag about the size of a grain of rice injected with a needle into your pet’s skin basically between the shoulder blades. Although we love to do this while the pet is having an anesthetic procedure, it can absolutely be done while awake as well! The microchip contains a unique number linked to the owner’s contact information and retrieved via a scanner which most veterinary hospitals, animal shelters & rescues have in hand. What a great tool to locate a sneaky doggo or a curious kitty cat that has wandered from home.
This chip is not a GPS tracking device but still increases the likelihood of you being reunited with your fuzzy family member by a whole lot!💖

🌼April showers bring May flowers and
🌸TIFFANY!!!🌸
PVC was fortunate enough to bring on Tiffany about a year ago to join the crew on the front desk. She comes to us with lots of experience in vet med!We even joke that she was partially raised in a dog kennel as her mother was a tech at another vet clinic in town for 38 years! So maybe not a joke?😇
Tiffany was born in Bakersfield, Ca & raised mostly in the Simi Valley until moving with her family to Grants Pass in 1992.
Her family always had a large variety of animals while she was growing up & she absolutely fell in love with horses!🐴 She enjoys riding & showing horses and Paints are her most favorite type!
Tiffany started in veterinary medicine at the tender age of 15 (!) as a kennel assistant at a clinic here in town.
She resides her with her husband & 4 children of which 3 are all grown up now!🩷🩵🩷
She prides herself in having quite the exotic palate including rattlesnake, alligator and rabbit among other things! Wow! With that information, what’s her favorite genre of food, you may wonder? SEAFOOD!!🦞🍤🦀
Well, not entirely true—her mother’s cooking is the real fave!💗

Growing up she aspired to be a primatologist, her first dog was a white Boxer named Petey, her fave season is Summer and her dream vacation would be in a hut over the water in The Maldives!!🪼🌴🐚🪸☀️
Your sneaky author here found out some neat info from her coworkers and management team —she exemplifies team player, she’s very even keel, just doen’t rattle or lose her cool when things get chaotic, she has a GREAT work ethic, we love her dry sense of humor and she always smells good!
