The Cavapoo is a lovable cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Miniature or Toy Poodle. Our Cavapoos are F1 Cavapoos, meaning they are a true 50/50 mix of the two breeds. They combine the affectionate, gentle nature of the Cavalier with the intelligence and low-shedding coat traits of the Poodle.
Known for their teddy bear looks and loving personalities, Cavapoos make wonderful family companions. They thrive on attention, enjoy being around children and other pets, and are eager to please. Their moderate energy level makes them adaptable to many lifestyles, whether that means cuddling on the couch or joining in on family adventures.
One thing I’ve learned from owning a Cavapoo is just how loyal and connected they become to their people. She is definitely “my dog,” but she also adores my kids and husband. She is playful with both humans and her best friend, Lorelei (the dam).
I was surprised by how adventurous she is. She loves going to the farm, tagging along to the lake, and being included in whatever we are doing. While her coat is not always best suited for rough outdoor adventures, her personality absolutely is.
Cavapoos do require regular grooming, including brushing between appointments and a full groom every 6–8 weeks to keep their coats healthy and mat-free. In return, you get a loving, intelligent companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side.
More than anything, she is my little shadow — always nearby, always loving, and always ready for the next adventure.
