Dahlias are very time consuming.

But I like that this is how my time is being consumed.

Caring for them and harvesting them forces me to slow down and focus, which isn’t always easy for my squirrel brain.

Dahlias remind me to be patient because things (including me) will bloom in their own time.

They teach me to release that need for control, and to sit back and observe the beauty that unfolds on its own schedule.

Friday is here and I have a BIG to-do list to tackle.

Will I get it all done? We shall see.

But for a few moments I’m gonna ignore my list and enjoy my coffee amongst the blooms.
