We knew when we bought our secret garden property that we’d inevitably need to replace all of the utilities, but we really hoped we could put this off a bit longer.

Unfortunately, the poorly done wiring recently gave out on us and we need to replace it all ASAP if we want running water for the garden next month.

The good news: I’m married to an electrician.

The not-so-good news: the parts we need to fix the bad electrical work are going to cost us around $1,000.

Wakey wakey! I added some more dahlia varieties to the 2025 garden, and now it’s time to wake them from their slumber and take cuttings.

Taking cuttings helps produce more dahlia plants, flowers, and tubers without having to purchase as many tubers and is a great way to stretch that garden budget.
