🌟We’re super excited for our FREE microchip/vaccine clinics again this year!!! They will be some of the first things we’re using some of the funds raised at our Pets Are Family fundraiser for! 🥳

👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾A few things to know👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾

🐾We will be offering FREE microchips, Rabies vaccines, & Distemper (DHPP or FVRCP) vaccines! *As long as our vet believes the pet is healthy enough
🐾Dogs MUST be on safe/secure collar or harness & leash (We prefer no flexi-leashes, prong collars, shock collars, etc)
🐾Cats MUST be in a secure carrier
*We will have leashes, collars, & carriers if needed!*
🐾First come, first served - be patient & kind, we’re all volunteers here for your pets
🐾Your pets will be handled & chipped/vaccinated by volunteer vet techs/assistants & we will have a DVM on site in case of vaccine reactions
🐾If your pet has never had the DAPP or FVRCP (distemper) vaccine, they will need a booster in 3-4 weeks
🐾If you know your pet has reactions to vaccines, please give appropriate dose of benedryl ahead of time & let us know
🐾If we’re unable to handle your pet for behavioral or health reasons, we reserve the right to refuse & refer to a local clinic (we do have muzzles & treats to use as needed)
🐾While supplies last (we have enough for at least 100!) - microchips are donated by Fi Nano & we are purchasing the vaccines/supplies!

If your pets are already chipped/vaccinated & you’d like to help, sponsor a vaccination for just $5!

❄️ COLD WEATHER IS COMING — PLEASE BRING PETS INSIDE ❄️

As temperatures drop across Missouri, outdoor animals are at serious risk. Freezing weather can become deadly in minutes — especially for dogs who are chained, elderly, small, sick, or exposed to wind and moisture.

At Mac’s Mission, we specialize in special — and every winter we see the heartbreaking results when animals are left outside with no protection.

🐾 Winter Safety Tips for Pets:
• Bring pets indoors whenever temperatures fall below 40°F
• Never rely on dog houses or straw alone — they are NOT enough
• Provide fresh, unfrozen water at all times
• Increase food intake for animals burning extra calories to stay warm
• Check paws for ice, salt, and cracking
• Watch for signs of hypothermia: shivering, lethargy, weakness
If you’re cold — they’re cold.

🚨 To report animal neglect in Missouri:
📞 Missouri Animal Cruelty Hotline: 314-647-4400
Please don’t look away. Be their voice when they don’t have one.

❤️ Mac’s Mission specializes in SPECIAL — and winter is when they need us most.

PET SAFETY IN EXTREME COLD: Always a good time to share these tips, especially with another round of extreme cold temperatures moving into the region next week! Limit their time outdoors, wipe their paws after being outside (I use pet safe salt in my walk), and water comes inside!

🐕 Bring them in Alert 🐈
In effect Tonight into Thursday evening.
1/14/26-1/15/26. 🥶⚠️

We will be issuing our 3rd Bring them in alert of the season for all of Michigan, Wisconsin, and Ontario.

Low temperatures in the single digits and breezy winds will create frigid Wind Chill conditions beginning tonight for the entire alert area. Most places will be pushing wind chills to -5°f. While this is a short 24 hour alert, we will likely be issuing another longer duration alert next week as extremely cold air looks to grip the Great Lakes area with an iron fist.

Take a moment to bring your furry family members inside for a warm for a few nights and perhaps open up a spot on the couch for the Ex if you let them in.

Pass this on if you have any family or friend pet owners that may need this information.

Effective today, 1/14/26, we have new set base pricing. Our shops overhead expenses have only continued to rise and we need to make the necessary changes to compensate this. We love our community and hope to serve you and your pets for many years to come ❤️ After over a decade in this building it also is in need of some TLC beyond what we have done already (repaved parking lot and new awnings) We appreciate you all!!
