TOO MUCH JOY TO LEAVE ANY OUT!
I have so many wonderful pictures of our canine guests enjoying themselves at Nana-N-Paws this week that I simply couldn’t choose just a few. Instead of creating one graphic, we’re sharing an entire album filled with happy dogs playing indoors and out!

These pictures show more than dogs having fun. Daycare provides physical exercise, mental stimulation, social interaction and opportunities to explore. Our supervised playgroups are carefully arranged according to each dog’s size, temperament, energy level and play style.

Some dogs love running and wrestling, while others prefer swimming, chasing toys, exploring the yard or relaxing near their friends. Our goal is to provide activities each dog genuinely enjoys while offering a healthy outlet for energy and reducing boredom.

Most importantly, daycare allows dogs to simply enjoy being dogs—and as you’ll see in this album, they’re very good at it!

💧 IS YOUR DOG DRINKING ENOUGH WATER? 💧
Water plays an essential role in nearly every part of your dog’s body—from regulating temperature and supporting digestion to lubricating joints and helping the organs function properly. During the hot summer months, making certain your dog stays well hydrated becomes even more important.

As a general guideline, a healthy adult dog may need approximately one ounce of water per pound of body weight each day. That means a 50-pound dog might drink around 50 ounces, or a little more than six cups. However, every dog is different. Activity level, temperature, diet, age, medications and overall health can all affect how much water a dog needs. Dogs who eat dry food may also drink more than those receiving canned or fresh foods containing additional moisture.

Watch for possible signs of dehydration, including:
🐾 Dry or sticky gums
🐾 Thick, rope-like saliva
🐾 Unusual tiredness or weakness
🐾 Loss of appetite
🐾 Sunken-looking eyes
🐾 Reduced skin elasticity
🐾 Excessive panting

If your dog has been playing or exercising, offer frequent opportunities to drink rather than allowing them to gulp a large amount all at once. Fresh, clean water should always be readily available, both indoors and outside. When traveling, bring water from home or bottled water along with a clean bowl. Adding a small amount of water to your dog’s food or providing several water bowls throughout the house may also encourage a reluctant drinker.

At Nana-N-Paws, we understand that summer fun must be balanced with careful supervision. Our daycare and sleepover dogs have access to fresh water, comfortable indoor play areas and appropriate rest periods throughout the day. We monitor their activity and behavior so they can enjoy plenty of fun while remaining comfortable, safe and well hydrated.

Because when temperatures rise, a full water bowl isn’t just refreshing - it’s an important part of keeping your dog healthy!
