Hello all. Haven't posted in awhile. We want to share a few updates. We have lifted business practices in line with health department recommendations. First, know that Steve is fully vaccinated and will no longer be wearing a mask. We ask customers who are not fully vaccinated to please wear one in consideration of our customers and their fur babies. Customers can park and come around to the back door for drop off and pick up. Appointments at this point are about 4 weeks out. We very much appreciate our loyal customers. It is recommended that if you would like to get on a regular schedule that you make your next appointment during your fur baby pick up.

Who took their pups for a walk this beautiful weekend? We did. Sidewalk/road salt can be rough on paws. Be sure to wipe them well with a damp towel to remove salt residue. Keep an eye out for cracks in their pads or for licking of paws. Salt can be corrosive to pads and tongues.

Well it has sure been busy since our reopening a month ago. We truly appreciate everyone's patience as we returned messages. It has been great to see our existing customers and meet some new ones. We are sad to share that on April 28th we very suddenly lost Louie. He had been coughing, we took him to the vet and found out he had an enlarged heart surrounded by fluid. The vet gave us meds to get rid of the fluid and told us we'd be lucky to have him for a year. That very afternoon Louie layed down in the shade and left us. He was an awesome dog, the very best. He was the shop mascot, Steve's buddy and is greatly missed. Lots of fond memories but some of the best are the motorcycle rides, especially in the Harbor Days parade.

We are understanding of the growing concerns surrounding COVID-19 as it impacts health, income and our regular day to day lives. The best we can do is take precautionary measures.

American Veterinary Medical Association published - Infectious disease experts and multiple international and domestic human and animal health organizations agree there is no evidence at this point to indicate that pets become ill with COVID-19 or that they spread it to other animals, including people. Out of an abundance of caution, it is recommended that those ill with COVID-19 limit contact with animals until more information is known about the virus. Have another member of your household take care of walking, feeding, and playing with your pet. If you have a service animal or you must care for your pet, then wear a face mask; don’t share food, kiss, or hug them; and wash your hands before and after any contact with them.

THE COUNTRY CLIPPER IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS - We have always ensured that the shop is clean and sanitized but have ramped up these measures even more. The health and safety of our clients and their pets is and always has been top priority. If you or someone in your household has tested positive for COVID-19, we understand that this is an especially difficult time for you however we do ask that you follow the direction of your health professional and remain home for healing and avoid the spread. The Country Clipper is a proud MSU Federal Credit Union Local Loyalty partner. When a customer pays with an MSUFCU credit or debit card they receive 10% off the grooming charges and $1.00 is donated to The Capital Area Human Society for each pet groomed. In 2019, through this program we extended a total of $918 in discounts to our customers and are pleased to share that $100 was donated to CAHS.
