When in doubt, take a step back and go back the foundations. Clarity is the goal, and maybe you’re moving a little too fast too soon. Remember to be fair to the dog!

Learned a cool head position exercise from during a private lesson I took last week! Really cool exercise and has been working great. I started the touch with food off of my body and out of position and have moved into the position and switch to a toy. Don’t stop learning!

Don’t make rocket science. Set the goal. Be clear with your criteria, advance, step back, move on…whatever you need to make it clear for your dog.

Set a goal for your training sessions! Work towards it; keeping it easy, then gradually increasing the criteria! Slow and steady creates competence!
