Long, but worth the read.
Almost 2 years ago, I received a text from a family friend asking if I wanted to finish a crochet project she had found in a relative's home. She had no idea who started it, had no pattern, but did have plenty of thread to finish it. There was a handwritten receipt in the box, indicating 10 skeins were purchased at $0.39 each in 1941! Through a miracle stranger on the internet, I was able to locate the pattern in an out-of-print book and purchased it for $5 on Thriftbooks! After some experimenting, I finally learned to use the steel hooks that were my grandma's. Not including the work previously done by a mystery woman decades ago, I put approximately 150 hours into this beauty that now covers a king size bed! I am so proud of this project 🩷
