While the rest of the extended family is out chasing the plastic bunny on weekends, Wildemere has been beating the heat and practicing his Goodest Boy skills. He’s added two new fun titles to his name, and pending AKC approval Willie is now:

While Kelsey is keeping a close eye on Maple back in NC, Niki in IN took some time to meet up with a great group of field spaniel friends to have some fun. Woodrow got to run his second ever baby bunny hop, and got his first fastcat ribbon for his fun run. He’s gonna be a FastCat addict as soon as he is old enough!

Gus got some really speedy runs in, but didn’t quite make fastest fieldie of the weekend. Congrats Winnie, Gus is gonna try harder next time! He did however, get enough points to win his FCAT2. Greater Lafayette Kennel Club really knows how to make some nice rosettes!

Unfortunately, we have some bad news to share. Some time between her ultrasound and her x-ray it seems Maple reabsorbed her puppies. While not common, it is something that happens occasionally with smaller litters. Right now, our only focus is Maple: making sure she is well, and recovers her health and natural joie de vivre. Moving forward, we have plans to breed Maple again in the fall or next spring, and Fern sometime after that, pending health testing results. As a small-time team, we do not have litters often. But we will keep everyone updated on future plans both here, and in our convos with you over the phone and messaging. 💕

Happiest of birthdays to the Golden Age litter, two years old today. How time flies, but we have been hearing every one of these pups have blossomed into wonderful young adults. Pictured are: Juniper, Lila, Jem, Clover, Bocce, Fern, momma Francine, and August.

Gus is getting to go try sniffing out rats for his birthday tonight, and momma Francine will be celebrated too, with each of them getting one half of a pupcake. Here’s to many more years with this lovely crew!

We had a mini Field Spaniel meetup at the FastCat trial in Nashville, Indiana this weekend. It was great to see so many friend, dog and people. Clover and Gus from the Henry x Francine litter got to reunite and play chase the plastic bunny! It was so much fun to see her again in person, and it was great to see her finally click with it after a couple tries! Gus just loves to Do Things all the time. Woodrow (Wil x Vera) also got to try his very first baby bunny hop (video in comments). We’re sure he’ll be the next FastCat star. Thank you to everyone who helped get two new kiddos, and one old pro started chasing that bag! 💕
