Graham Humane Society of Young County Animal shelter serving Young County

06/05/2026

📢 Shelter Closure Notice 📢

Our shelter will be closed today so our staff can assist with spay and neuter surgeries of some of our shelter pets at PETS in Wichita.

These clinics play an important role in reducing pet overpopulation and helping more animals in our community. We appreciate your understanding as our team works to support this important effort.

We will resume normal operations on our next business day. Thank you for your continued support of our shelter and the animals in our care! 🐾

Official statement from the Humane Society of Young County:

The Humane Society of Young County would like to address recent concerns regarding a social media campaign that has been linked to our organization.

First and foremost, we want to make it clear that the Humane Society of Young County (HSYC) Board and staff were not involved in any aspect of this campaign. No approval was sought from the Board of Directors to utilize the HSYC facilities and HSYC itself did not take part in the campaign. The member of our organization that did participate in this event has made a public apology and will be addressed at our quarterly meeting in June.

We want to clearly state that HSYC did not financially benefit from this campaign in any way, shape, or form. HSYC received no proceeds, donations, or financial compensation connected to the social media campaign.

We understand the confusion and concern this situation has caused with our community and our supporters. Our organization takes its responsibility to the community and the animals we serve seriously. HSYC remains committed to transparency, accountability, and continuing the mission we have worked tirelessly toward for so many years.

At the end of the day, our focus remains where it has always been-caring for homeless animals, promoting responsible pet ownership, provide low-cost spay/neuter and vaccination services, and serving the animals and citizens of Young County with compassion and integrity.

Thank you to everyone who has continued to stand beside the Humane Society of Young County. We ask our community to continue supporting HSYC, our staff, volunteers, fosters, and the animals who rely on us every day. They are innocent in this situation and deserve continued love, support, and grace.

The heartworm special applies to our June 3rd clinic! No appointment necessary for vaccines, microchipping, heartworm testing, etc! Walk-in 10-2!

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/194hd4pxSU/

We're thrilled to announce our June special offer:

FREE Canine Heartworm Tests when you purchase a 12-month supply of preventative. But that's not all – for the entire month, we're also offering half-price testing with no purchase necessary! (Please note that four-way heartworm tests are excluded from this offer.)

Appointments are filling up quickly but you can walk-in 8:45am - 3:00pm Monday through Friday!

Why is this offer so important? In Texas, heartworm disease poses a significant threat to our furry friends, with our state ranking among the highest in heartworm prevalence in the country.

Heartworm disease is FATAL and can be devastating to our furry companions. But the good news is that prevention is easy and affordable! By keeping your pet on heartworm prevention, you're not only safeguarding their health but also preventing other types of worms that can be transmitted to you and your family.

Booking your appointment is a breeze – simply visit https://petsclinic.org, call 940-723-7387, or drop us an email at [email protected]. Walk on in Monday through Friday from 8:45 am to 3:00 pm, or join us on Saturday, June 20th, from 8 am to 12 pm for heartworm testing.

Thank you, Shandi, for being our June heartworm-testing Mascot!
