Believe it or not we are almost to the holidays! Time to start booking your appointments if you have not yet. We are nearly booked up already. We will start a waiting/cancellation list once we are full. And as always we are closed the friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving and from Christmas Eve until New Years day.

Attention everyone. Next week will be a bit of a pain. The best way to get here would probably be the back way on 11th.

Road Closure on 12th Avenue Beginning Monday, November 3rd

Starting Monday, November 3rd and running through Friday, November 7th, the southbound lane of 12th Avenue between Highway 60 (Washington Street) and Bridge Street will be closed to traffic. The northbound traffic lane will remain open. Additionally, there will be no parking on either side of the street. See map.

This closure is necessary to allow crews to excavate a water utility line for a new business that is under construction.

Traffic detours for the southbound lane will be posted on 1st Avenue and 17th Avenue.

Please note that traffic exiting the public parking lots on the east side of 12th Avenue will not be allowed to turn left during this road closure.

Well as it's technically my due date today I suppose it is time to finally announce that baby Declan has arrived. He was born at 7:13pm on 5/5/25 and weighed in at 8lbs 6oz and was 20 inches long. All this happened after unexpectedly going to the ER Sunday 5/4 because I hadn't felt him move in a few hours which was not typical for him. They admitted me to labor and delivery triage to try and get his heartbeat on the monitor. After what seemed like forever we got a heartbeat and moment after that he kicked me! I however had elevated blood pressure.
So after about 5 hours of monitoring the both of us I was admitted to an actual room and started induction around 8pm Sunday evening. After almost 24 hours and doing all kinds of things to move it along and 3 good solid hours of pushing and the threat of a C-section because he didn't want to vacate the premises, I finally got him out. He however didn't want to breathe very well on his own so he had to go to the special care unit and get a CPAP machine put on for a few hours.
But after all that he is very happy and healthy. I am good but this pregnancy and delivery was way harder than with Charleigh and at 41 I'm recuperating slower than I'd like. But he's here and he's just as sweet as can be.

One of my very best friends is a super hero animal advocate! She is doing great things for no kill shelters across the country. If you are able to help her cause at all please donate ❤️

Danielle Paiz Gunter ’06 is helping feed dogs and cats in no-kill shelters. As executive director of Puppy Food Bank, she spearheads efforts to collect donations that fuel the work of rescue organizations across the country.

Since its founding in October 2022, Danielle has helped Puppy Food Bank distribute more than 500,000 pounds of dog and cat food to rescue shelters in eight states.

“Puppy Food Bank was established to help no-kill pet rescues across Texas by providing dog and cat food to help with the financial burden rescues are facing during the capacity crisis,” Danielle says. “We went public in January 2023 and due to the number of applications and donors beyond Texas, we expanded to serve rescues in the continental United States in April 2024.”

Well if you haven't heard...Baby #2 is on the way for me (Lindsay). I am due May 14th and quite ready for it to come ASAP 😂. I am uncomfortable and tired. This pregnancy is a bit harder than miss Charleigh. I have been moving slow and trying to cut back a bit on dogs and will be starting leave in April. I will groom a day or two a week after the baby boy is born for a couple months and not take off completely. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Also this is the last one I'm too old for this 🤣
