We received a message from someone in Arizona and there is a RUFF Rescue there that is NOT associated with us at all. We also know that there is another in South Florida that also is NOT associated with us. We are our only entity and we are located in the panhandle of Florida. Please don't think either of them are associated with us. We also know there is one in California that is a very good rescue but we are not associated with them either. The one in South Florida is named Rescue Unwanted Furry Fidos but they use our nickname of RUFF. The one in Arizona opened after we did and use our name everywhere. My understanding is that they do not have good reviews at all and the one in California is a very nice group.

Please don't mix us up with any of them. We are the only location of our rescue in Graceville, FL and we were formerly in Fort Walton Beach, FL

Please help this precious girl in Alford who was dumped and now freezing. Is there anyone near there that can help?

One of tour precious dogs we have here by the name of Buster was diagnosed yesterday with Lyphoma (sp?). His lymph nodes are cancerous and he will not live long. He will live from one month to three. It saddens me that he has been at Ruff for such a long time and never offered a home. He is loved so very much. He loves to ride and I put him in my car yesterday on the passenger side next to me and he loved it. He barked at every one he saw cutting grass near the road or people standing on the side of the road. I stopped at Hardee’s and bought him a hamburger. He loved it so much that he watched me as I pulled out my hamburger so I let him have mine too. I wish God had seen to it that he got a loving home where he could have had hamburgers off and on during his life and someone to take him on walks. He is a precious boy who deserved so much better than he had all his life. He came from a home who "chained" him up in a garage allowing their children to throw tonka toys at him and the garage was very hot in summer and cold in winter. I know he appreciates having his own room here and heat in winter and cool in summer. He is loved on every day and now plays with Riley and Mickey every day outside.. It’s going to be so hard for me to see him deteriorate in front of my eyes and it hurts so much to know what is coming. Pray for him. His video is below and is the first one with the "yellow" lab. Click on it to see how precious he is.

May God give him his beautiful home where he can run free, get lots of hugs and have his hamburgers all the time.

More sad news. Sally was adopted over three years ago and here is the notice I received today from her loving owners. She loved them very much and they were wonderful to sally.....

Janice,

I have some sad news. About a month ago Sally was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia. The disease came on very quick and very aggressive. We did everything we could do for her but unfortunately her body was not responding to any treatments. We decided to ease her pain and let her go. It was the toughest decision my husband and I ever made. We could not see her suffer and be in pain. But Sally lived her last 3 1/2 years with a loving family and she was so happy! I'm so glad that we gave her a chance at life..the best life she could ask for.
Thank you for giving us the gift of Sally for the last 3 years. We know you will miss her as much as we do.

Sara
